You have that backwards. Look at the eyebrows, facial structure, eye shape, smile and several other things.

Then why would they post 2 pictures of the "daughter" when introducing the mother?

What helps the Japanese age so well?

It's a combination of things.
1) Their diet
2) The way the think that excersise (especially stretching) is so important
3) They always wear sunscreen
4) Genetics
5) And this quite an important role- the japanese have a different style of makeup than we do. If you look above you can see that the mother is wearing a "younger" style of makeup. (sun kissed blush, eye are highlighted with lighter colors to seem more open/round like a child's and appear more awake.) In western cultures the aim in makeup is to make one seem more mature by highlighting cheekbones and make eyes seem smokier and sexier.
6) actually women in Japan place more importance on skin care and keeping a younger face than they do on makeup. Girls here start moisturizers and skin replenishing products before their 20s.

technically that would be their genotypes. Phenotype is the expression of the genotype. But then again I might be wrong, It's been a long time since 10th grade

I know the difference. The phenotype here is slow aging.
A continuous trait, as it's polygenic - probably due to reduced oxidative damage to mitochrondria, among other things, high collagen synthesis? dunno, but the allels that code for it would be in the genotype.

If they aren't expressed, if due to epistasis or a Dominant allele at the same loci, then it will not be in the phenotype. In this case, they don't age quick, so I think it's right to say the phenotype, because it is expressed.

What age would 10th grade be? We learn about this in year 13 in HS, in the UK, which is kinda late.. (last year of school). Our education system seems to mostly suck (except our unis are great!)

10th grade would be 14 - 16.
Typically, you graduate when you're 17 if you were born after july and 18 if you're born before it

this kinda summarizes the aging scenario for students at the two most common age groups in HS:
9th grade: start 13, turn 14 or start 14, turn 15
10th grade: start 14, turn 15 or start 15, turn 16
11th grade: start 15, turn 16 or start 16, turn 17
12th grade (last year of high school): start 16, turn 17; start 17, turn 18

these are more or less valid for people that didn't have to repeat a grade
I've only met one person that graduated at 19 that didn't have to repeat a year.

You learn things a lot earlier in the USA. I find it odd that we rank higher in science, the UK.

I suppose it's due to a larger population, so more disparities.

I can't speak at all for anyone outside of California, but the only required test we need for graduating is hilariously easy.
It was literally all based on **** I remembered from two years prior and I completely aced it.
It could be due to how feasible it is to pass that we pale in comparison when it comes to ranking us worldwide.

Perhaps, though I've been told by eurofags that our exams are far easier than the international European bachelor, but I could do their **** too, after translating their papers.

In physics anyway, I can ace some uni papers for biology, but that's because I dig my dick hard into research sites with peer reviewed journals on various things bioscience related, and then I educate myself on it further, go figures I'm doing it at uni this year lol
I'm yet to see an american test, they have these GPA things and the sats, right?

What're they like, give me an example of a physics question!

>implying there was physics on the HS exit exam
At most, there may have been a question on finding momentum; I can't for the life of me recall anything physics related. It was split into english and math. Math involved incredibly basic things like geometry and algebra I, and english revolved around writing conventions, interpreting short stories, and they even threw some grammar in there.

Yeah, we did those, too, but they weren't required for graduating. You could literally fail every single one of those, but so long as you passed the high school exit exam, made an exit portfolio that included your resume I'm not about to look for an e with an accent, **** that cheese and personal statement, and had an interview that basically meant "I know how to dress up all fancy-like and interview good", you're gonna graduate.

Now that I think about it, if rankings are set by standardized tests as opposed to the exit exam, it could very easily explain how the rest of the world ***** on the US. I think I should've noticed this sooner.

WHAT, you can only get into a uni here if you get the grades required, and have a good personal statement or/and interview.
Sometimes you can get in with slightly lower grades, if there's room on the course.

Yeah, it's the same here. Graduating from high school doesn't guarantee you a chance at uni. In most cases, if you didn't do well in high school, you can go to a community college for a little while then transfer to a university.

Karl Pilkington described Asian women as being 'like a pear'. They'll stay young for most of their life and suddenly turn old and wrinkly - there's no 'in-between' period for them.
