Originally freddos were 5p now in most areas they are 30p
Outrageous
User avatar #37 to #8 - niimajneb ONLINE (08/29/2014) [-]
It's ridiculous. There's a shop in my village and I remember going down there as a little boy and being able to get a handful of Freddos for the same price of a single one today.
User avatar #76 to #8 - defeats (08/29/2014) [-]
I remember once buying a big box of freddos for a pound... That was a great time.
Same with Taz bars, I don't know what happened to them though.

And that's without even going into how they killed off the pure joy that was Taz and replaced it with the frog Loser - "Caramel Freddo", what a gip.
User avatar #30 to #25 - lokiwins (08/29/2014) [-]
In Australia we have caramello koalas and always have. Which is ironic since taz is a Tasmanian devil, native to Australia.
User avatar #31 to #30 - gtaant (08/29/2014) [-]
Though Taz is from Tasmania so he's only really a member of the Aussie Commonwealth :p
User avatar #32 to #31 - lokiwins (08/29/2014) [-]

When I was young they were 10p.

Some places had the nerve to charge 15p.

Those places were boycotted.
User avatar #57 to #42 - cuntism (08/29/2014) [-]
I remember getting a slap off a shopkeeper because he was trying to charge me 50p for a can that was price marked for 30p, and I went off at him saying he can't do that, swore at him and he leaned over the counter and slapped me, told him I was gonna go get my Dad.

Went home, told my Dad he tried taking my money and he slapped me so he ******* stormed into the shop "who the **** do you think you are touching my kid ?!"
"Who **** your bloody son think he is, swearing at me telling me what I can dooooo!"
(And he said do like DoooOOOOoooo, was great)

At which point my Dad turned back to me and whacked me twice as hard as the shopkeeper had for swearing and lying. I was super ******* polite to that shopkeeper from now on haha

Actually, the first currency was the Cowrie shell in 1200 BC China.

The first minted currency were imitations of Cowrie shells made of copper or brass in 1000 BC China.

Currency ine one form or another goes back to directly after our barter based hunter/gatherer system, he mentioned minted currency. Before minted currency precious metals of rough weight was used as currency.

Born and lived in England till I was 7, and Freddo frogs cost 5p.

Returned when I was 16 and they were 35p..

35p is a ******* rip off..

User avatar #6 - TheHutchie ONLINE (08/28/2014) [-]
OP, you have inspired me to start doing ******** facts about independent Scotland. Starting with this one.

If Scotland becomes independent, Alex Salmond will reduce Freddos immediately back to 5p each, like in the good old days.

He will also legalise time travel so that Scotland can take advantage of futuristic hovercars and win the race to Mars.

The sad thing is that neither of these things are as stupid as saying that it's a good idea for independent Scotland to use the Pound, which is controlled from ******* LONDON.

I hate my country.

Help me Bongfriends. What the hell is a Freddo?
#20 to #16 - feedingwolves (08/29/2014) [-]
A Freddo is literally a small bar of chocolate carved like a frog. For the longest time they used to be either 5p or 10p. They do them nowadays with different types, like full of caramel and all that good **** .

When I last gave a **** about the price of these things, it was because my parents didn't know that candy and **** was having the price raised, so I looked like a greedy **** asking for more money to get the same thing I would any other day.

Then I grew up.

So now I use my paypal to order boxes of them

The taxes on everything with sugar in it in Denmark is pretty high, a 2 L half a gallon amerifags Coca Cola is usually 30-40 kr (7-8 USD), and a chocolate bar is probably around 10-15 kr (2-3 USD). Fewer fat kids. This works.
#127 to #118 - bananamann (08/29/2014) [-]
For the record, Coca Cola (and all other soda) comes in 2 Liter bottles, not gallons. Milk and water are typically sold in gallons, juices and **** vary.
User avatar #131 to #127 - mauerman ONLINE (08/29/2014) [-]
The gallon part was just a reference to you guys not using and therefore not understanding the glorious metric system.
#132 to #131 - bananamann (08/29/2014) [-]
But literally everyone understands how big a 2L is. Because we're fat American ***** who drink a lot of soda.
Also, the metric system is over-rated and gay.
#135 to #118 - intrepidy ONLINE (08/30/2014) [-]
Id rather pay for healthcare than pay taxes on Coca-Cola.
