actually a serious problem there's a decline of male teachers out of fear of being labeled a pedophile.

All but a handful of the female teachers that have taught me in the past have been enormous cunts one even sent people to the principal's office for asking questions in class on the flip side all but two of my male teachers have been pretty damn good. The point is that your gender doesn't make you good at something like teaching. Something like manual labour gender will play a role definitely, teaching not so much. But all that's irrelevant, you are missing the point completely. The only thing that should be a barrier to you getting the kind of job you want is your ability to do it, not whether you have a cock or a cunt between your legs.

TL;DR **** off

Dude I worked as an educator since I was a teen, and literally I turned 20 and got out of there, because I was so scared a child would hug me and the wrong person would see, or it would be misconstrued... I come from a family of teachers (3 sisters, all work in schools) But I just can't do it to myself because when one person labels you, true or not, you never recover from that. I'm glad you see the issue too. Sorry for ranting.
#55 to #5 - anon (11/23/2015) [-]
Yep, and thats ****** up. Men usually make the best teachers, especially in highschool. I'd think women would be slightly better in middle school as they're seen more as a motherly role, ya feel me? But **** , women are horrible teachers at anything high level. I haven't had a single good female teacher that was good at teaching anything tough in highschool or college now... The only good teachers are men imo.

My high school calc teacher was an asian woman (spoke completely normal English) and she taught VERY well. I highly commend her. She taught better than my male calc professors.

One of my best professors at uni was female (also white), she taught a 300 level course "Fundamentals of Computer Science" and did an amazing job.
However, I will agree that in general women teachers are terrible. I certainly had to suffer my fair share of bad ones.

I have had.. no good high school or college female teachers as well. Not to say all the male teachers were great, as a matter of fact many of them were sub par to women on the faculty. However the best ones I have had that enjoy their work, do it well and communicate with their students best have all been male and none have been female.

Ive had a few good female teachers in college. Music theory was "decent" if watered down. Psychology 1 wasnt too bad either.

Pros of living/working in Thailand:
1. Foreigners are paid much more than natives, even at an equivalent level of skill.
2. Cheaper cost of living.
3. Still pretty highly developed despite having a cheap cost of living.
4. Most foreigners seeking employment in Thailand are given cushy jobs, and will rarely have to deal with anything related to the Thai language.
5. Thai people are usually very friendly.
7. Great food, with Thai food being really cheap while most other cuisines are at a pretty normal/affordable price.
8. Great looking girls.
9. Cheap (although slighty ****** ) weed.

It's hard to describe, because the government here rarely concerns itself with things like gay marriage or women's rights, etc. because we don't really have issues with any of that.

I will say libertarian right-wing, because people here are relatively unburdened by the government concerning their life choices, while still holding a lot of traditionally Thai values at heart. Drugs are still illegal though smh.

It's true too. I worked with kids for 6 god damned years and even at my ******* job I was ******* looked at as a pedophile every time I took a step. It didn't matter how trustworthy I was or how great I was with the kids, I was always a ******* pedo to those people. Honestly, as much as I loved satisfying my dad instinct by working with kids, that was a big reason as to why I left. I just hated feeling like a criminal for doing my god damned job. A lot of those kids didn't have dads so I was a good father figure, but that wasn't enough for people...

I can't imagine how much worse it is for a god damned teacher.

In all fairness, incidence of rape and pedophilia is at an all-time high, so it's no wonder women are so afraid, or people don't want weirdos talking to their kids; and even when fathers "stick around", the mother is usually left to take care of the kid, so no, fathers don't really matter that much. There's a reason that women get their kids in a divorce, you know.

I sure as hell wouldn't want some random person talking to my kid, would you? **** no, it's just plain weird.

As a male parent of one boy one girl, take these words to heart. You know **** all. It's people like you who are ******* it up for men. There is no proof that there is an increase. Just its more publicly discussed. More so in the way of making men look like the only offenders and that only men can be one. It's people like you whoare making it iimpossible for males to want to interact with children or go to school to teach. Hell the cashier at my local store quit because he "looks the part". He fears someone wtry to make him seem like a pedo. Because he will go out of his way to help someone or make there day that much better. I wouldn't mind someone coming up to my kids and talking to them. First off I with them. There safe. Second. That's how people grow up to trust one another. It's retarded when a female cam clearly go to a park with no kids snap a few pics and no one stops her. A male can bring a few kids to the park and want to get some pictures of them have g fun and next thing you know cops come and yell at him. On a plane, a male can't sit next to a child flying along yet a woman can of no relation? EhatWhat is wrwrong with this world.

This is a tricky one. I actually believe exposure to certain things breeds things in people. I know here especially, the idea that films or games can you make you violent is extremely unpopular, but I do believe it happens, and I think the same for sexuality.

More and more people can explore their inklings, their little weird feelings, and let them grow. You have people who get a random idea, can jump on the net, explore it guilt free, and all of a sudden you've got people experiencing sensations they would have otherwise not have felt
User avatar #159 to #51 - spearmint (11/23/2015) [-]
Violent films and games don't make you more violent.

They are only shown in certain cases to make you think the world is more violent/dangerous.

I know you're a troll, ogdon, but the odds of your child being kidnapped for any reason in the U.S. is about 1 in 2.5 million which means that your child dying from falling down the stairs is more than twice as likely. So if anyone here is scared that their kid will get kidnapped, just remember those statistics. The odds are pretty low even if you send them out into the neighbour naked at 1 am and tell them to come home in the morning and that taking candy from a stranger is a pretty good deal.
#241 to #14 - anon (11/23/2015) [-]

...pretty sure thats not right. Its just that we live in the age of information. We hear about the cases more often. Could also be like the "rape" situation in the military. It gets reported more, sure, but thats because its actually getting reported. The actual instances are estimated to be less than in the past.
#171 to #14 - anon (11/23/2015) [-]
It isn't anywhere close to an all time high, the all time high in the USA was in the 60's-80's. The only places where rape have gone up dramatically is the middle east and eastern European countries with middle easterners there committing the crimes and being slapped on the wrist bec the politicians there feel they will be labeled racists for harsh punishments befitting of such crime. There are however LARGE industries in the world currently based on sex trafficking both forced and otherwise. That is an issue of itself that correlates with rape numbers but are not rape exactly but organized crime. The reason fathers aren't around is because A. They either leave bec the relationship they will receive from the mother and child are not something they desire or because they work more than the mothers. Who are not only usually supplemented by the government but also by their ex spouses because the government makes them. So the women get to be homebodies with children in numbers bec that is what the system allows them and is set for them to do. The only reason women get the child in the divorce is bec is came out of their body point blank period. Its a gross stigma that the inner workings of modern civilization has created.

I am 24 and people are more amazed at how patient I am with kids, but in reality, children are really just the only kind of people that don't disgust me

I feel the exact same way

I wish I had that experience. Getting treated like a pedo 24/7 with kids is a bummer mang.

>Walking out of work
>Wearing my Food Lion uniform shout out to my ****** in VA and anywhere else they have Food Lions I guess
>See child wandering around, obviously lost
>"Hey buddy. Looking for someone?"
>Can't find his mom, so I take him to the break room
>"I'm gonna walk up front and intercom your mom for you, wait here"
>Pull my 3DS with Smash Bros out of my jacket and let him play with it
>I'm about halfway up to the front when a woman rushes past me towards the back room
>Follow her, figure she's looking for her son
>She rushes into the room, picks him up, and turns to me
>"Why you hide my son?" (Apparently English wasn't her first language)
>"N-no, I was-"
>Son pipes up "He let me play his toy. I played with his mega man!"
>The woman looks horrified
>She shouts at me and the manager in a language none of us recognize while hitting me with her humongous purse and then storms out of the store.

I'm 23, male, looking to get into teaching.

Oddly enough, this actually doesn't worry me. People don't seem to react weirdly to me if for one reason or another I end up talking to their kids. [On the train, at work... I don't just strike up conversation.]

That said, it's gonna depend on how you look as well. People can be right judgmental arseholes.

i've had this issue for the longest time. i'm 20, ever since i was 16 people would tell me i'm too friendly around children.

i just ******* love the cute little twerps.

i bet if i was a 6'4 blue eyed blonde haired german i wouldn't be viewed as such
User avatar #83 to #36 - nigeltheoutlaw (11/23/2015) [-]
You would be, I promise. Any male would be viewed as such. Seriously, only women get a free pass with kids, otherwise you're ALWAYS going to have people treating you like a god damned pedophile for liking children, even if it's just a dad instinct.

when my grandpa was young he lived in san francisco. he worked for pg&e and would go to some sketchy areas. he said back then people didnt have much so he would do little things for the local kids like give them a ride on his truck or bring them candy and parents would just smile and wave. hes telling me this story and not once in my mind i thought oh gross. but my mom chimes in and goes oh donnie why would you do that?! thats terrible. in my mind i saw it as a guy who cared about the state of some peoples lives were in and tried to put a smile on faces where he could. my mom saw it as he was some pedophile. she tried to keep me safe cause she was so paranoid about that. but never educated me. my grandpa always taught me to trust but understand not everyone is good. the day it came i was almost taken from my home town. a small town i was on my bike. people came up to me all the time asking questions about the town or they knew my family and wanted to meet me. a man parked his truck next to me he got out and tried to grab me but i was to fast for him. i dont thank my mom for knowing what to do and look for. i thank my grandpa for teaching me to trust in the right places. and to learn that people are bad but not everyone is.
User avatar #196 - godsgrace (11/23/2015) [-]
Wow I thought I was the only one. I have had this fear for so many years and I am terrified of even talking to children in case I say something wrong and im labeled a pedophile. I'm 22.

I would never pick up kids who ask for a car ride even though I feel sorry for their tired little legs.

I am so happy that I work at kid's gyms where the parents don't give a **** . I'm, like, the second oldest (20 y/o) coach at both gyms and the parents just love me. Just tonight, a mother asked me to help one of her daughters, and it's always flattering for something like that to happen.
User avatar #181 - theinternetaddict (11/23/2015) [-]
Unfortunately that only happens to men. You dont see a woman talking to a kid and go like "oh she might be a child molestor, better be careful"
#166 - tirithon (11/23/2015) [-]
Im 24 and i work in a kindergarten and that was my fear as well in the start. Hell, i still have a small fear of it, its kind of ridiculous when working with kids is the thing i love. But who am i to complain, i am a "cis white male" I guess i just have to go check my privileges again.
