It's a myth that women think any of these things to begin with. I don't know any girls/women in this day and age who still believe any of this nonsense.

Especially with the hundreds of variations of this post that make their way around the internet every year.

one of my ex girlfriends abused me. she would randomly hit me and tell me i did something to deserve it, she would hit me for hanging out with my friends without her permission. she would hit me if i did anything she deemed cheating(being at my friends house while his sister was home, walking in the same direction as a girl, knowing any girl no matter how unattractive) she would tell me i was fat, ugly, that i was lucky to have her, i was a worthless sack of **** , ect. she cheated on me and i found out. in attempt to not be called a slut or anything like that she hit me with a log(aimed for my back but hit my arm) and said i was the one cheating on her and beating her. she went around school telling people i abused her and cheated on her. she went to the principle and claimed i was going around school starting rumors about her(i never spoke of her after we split up. i just wanted to forget she existed. the guy she cheated on me with however was going around talking about how she cheated on me with him) she did her best to ruin my life and managed to get a few people to believe i was a woman beater. men can easily be victims.

TL;DR i was a male victim of domestic abuse

I like this post. But why is the formatting so inconsistent. Some of them are the actual myths that need to be dispelled and some are explaining why they are wrong. And 14 isn't either. More consistent formatting will help improve it.

>be mid 30s
>have 3 young kids (all boys) (6, 3 and 1 at the time)
>Looking after kids one fine spring morn to give mother a break
>Buying kids ice cream because why not, its hot and Ice Cream is delicious
>Woman behind me in line
>she says "Excuse me, are these all your boys?"
>"Yes they are"
>"where is their mother?"
>"At home"
>"You're allowed to be alone with your 3 kids?!?!?"
>"Why wouldn't I be?"
>"Isn't she afraid of what you'll do with them?" (She does this in a clear Josef Fritzl fear kind of tone)
>I say "Excuse me, that's a disgraceful comment to make" (Turn around and ignore her)
I swear to jesus how I didn't hit that woman in the face that day I'll never know.
P.S. Ice Cream was delicious.

I know no one will believe me, but I am a girl, (long time lurker, just made an account,) and I am anti-femnazism. I absolutely HATE with a passion all the freaking BS that girls and women say about guys. On the flipside, I hate all the stuff some guys say about girls. I think we all need a little perspective on things. The funny part is, I see more people willing to talk about the truth on FJ than I do in the news, on FB, etc.

Anywho, happy to be an official part of this.

It's confusing how half of these are listed as the myths, and the other half is listed as arguing against the myth...
Like, 1 and 2 were arguing against a myth.
Then 3 just stated the myth, but it read like another argument, and I was like "Wait, there's a myth that states men are better and more nurturing, and this is arguing against it? ... oh."

Story time again! This one is in response to number five.

My mom lives in Georgia and I live in Chicago, once every few months I make this really quick flight to Atlanta then from there I go to Savanna. All in all with layover time it takes maybe three hours. So this Christmas I get in my seat and right next to me there is this little girl who look sot be about nine years old, all alone with no parent or guardian. Now this isn't a new thing, kids fly all the time and flight attendants are trained to help them if they get lost but this was clearly this girls first flight. Shaking like a leaf and sweating bullets before the engines even started. Instantly I felt bad for her since she was scared to death of being on even this short flight so after sat down I started talking to her.

Her name was Alex and she was going to see her Dad in Savanna but most of the time lived with her mom lived in Chicago, like my situation but reversed. Pretty cool kid, told some little kiddie jokes and stories about how good of an artist she was. Nice to talk to all around but something kept bugging me. Every few minutes a flight attendant would come around and just stare at the two of us. Like, the kind of stare you give to a guy who you just watched steal from a charity cup. They did it four times before we even started taxiing but I tried my best to ignore it and just keep talking to Alex making sure she didn't feel scared anymore.

This is where the real **** begins. I'll continue it in a reply.

Aye, though it seems quite sick to me that some women actually think of these myths as truths, I have witnessed it sooo many times. Not necessarily as directly as stating "men are cold pieces of stone, with no heart or brain", but you can sorta see this belief shine through in so many conversations, advertisements, books, movies.. everywhere.

I find it quite saddening how men also commonly aren't allowed to be weak. There are thousands of campaigns that are supposed to "help women be stronger", because they're being repressed (and I support many of these campaigns), but you never come across anyone saying "You know what, men should be allowed to be defended too. Men shouldn't always need to face bullying, hatred, stereotyping etc. by themselves." Like, in domestic violence refuges, they often don't even ALLOW men to be there. No matter how badly they got abused. Many of these refuges even throw out male children above the age of 12-13, even if they arrive with their mothers. This is just sickening.

Yea, I don't get why most girls keep in whats wrong.

I want you to tell me, or else I won't do anything for you.

If you do that they get even more mad.

I don't understand anymore.
