Yeah, I love when Archer and Lana discuss their hearing loss, like when he fires a gun right next to her ear and is like "sorry, I know how much that hurts," and when she refers him to her doctor.
Well yeah, all it takes is for him to accidentally knock into the light-switch, and then the light-bulbs will burn until he accidentally hits it again.
I'm sure that what with being daredevil and all he would notice when he turned a light on or off, he doesn't just stumble around like a glue huffing toddler.
He can sense electromagnetic waves, which light is included among, so he would know that the lightbulbs, after he flicked the switch, were not creating any light.
Well, he can hear the beating of another person's heart. A normal person, or even a common thief, would have a slight increase in heartbeat upon breaking into another person's house, because there would be the fear that they get caught or hurt somehow. So that's eliminated.
More advanced thieves are eliminated because they would be quieter than mercs.
Mercs become the most likely choice, as it's unlikely many people would be able to figure out who he is. Mercs would be hired by those who do know, as he's pretty damn badass, and mercs are expendable. He's a lawyer, so it'd be pretty easy for him to make more and better deductions than I have.
Now, as for them wearing night vision, I'm guessing that can be chalked up to being in large due to his radar sense, which gives him a rough 3d-image type idea of what the world around him is. That would tell him that they're wearing some type of goggle. That combined with the lack of light makes it a pretty good guess that the goggles are night vision goggles.
Depends on the googles, newer ones have flash protection, but older ones would have you seeing a thousand suns. Based on the art style, I'd say this is an older comic, though maybe not that old, so potentially plausible I suppose
Yea, most new ones autoshutter or have a cut out function. There's still a white out unless they're super fukken high speed and go clear, but most shutter instead, which usually is superior it's not a light switch but a flashbang and it going off then on as opposed to staying off, or staying on. Basically for flash you need vision restored asap, so length of flash is all the dead time you want, vs of it say, autoshuttered for one s, you would be waiting longer after the blow still impaired.
i'm blind but not really....
gee, next time ill just create a character that doesnt have lungs but can breathe through her skin. wouldnt that be a ******* creative character...
That's were I was coming from ooh, blind guy who's superpower is... to basically see! That sounds fun! /s until I saw the Netflix show. Have you seen it? I'd give it a watch if you haven't, really sold Daredevil for me.
Yeah I think they did a good job of the Netflix series. Daredevil's ability allows him to have full 360 degree "sight." BTW, you should watch the Jessica Jones series on Netflix too, it's pretty good.
Making a super power out of the one sense dies and the others get stronger maxim was actually a cool idea, though. It also makes him vulnerable to forms of sonic attack that normal people with his skillset wouldn't even be phased by, so it's not like he's been 200% improved because he went blind. It's a superpower, he's a superhero, and he has weaknesses related to his power. He's the Zatoichi, the blind samurai, only a lawyer.
People are downvoting you, but I get where you're comming from. Realistically looking, a superhero with an impairment that's actually an advantage is ******** at least. That's a kinda mary sue-ish thing to do. Blind man becoming amazing fighter, deaf man becoming a great musician, black man becoming a functioning member of society, and such.
inb4 - don't you think about making an example out of Beethoven, he learned to make music before he went deaf. By the time he did, he already had everything memorised and was so good, that his lack of hearing simply wasn't enough to impair his work.
Consider the following argument: He got better after being deaf not because he became deaf, but because he became more experienced in music. He didn't need to listen to his scores YEARS before he became deaf.
In case you wanted to know more, this specific moment is from Daredevil #5 from Mark Waid and Chris Samnee's run. Haven't finished their whole run myself but what I have read is pretty enjoyable and would recommend it.
If we don't mind getting a little obscure, this guy went by the name Daredevil in Earth X. Completely different powers and all that but still technically a Daredevil. Also, he was an actual Daredevil in a circus.
