innocent is such a retarded word to use for war.
How is anyone innocent in a war?

Let's say USA is attacking Iraq. USA kills soldiers. ok whatever, they were soldiers. USA kills civilians. OMG INNOCENTS. But are they? They were the ones who gave birth to soldiers, they were the ones who fed them, who raised them, who gave them weapons
User avatar #13 to #1 - fatbasturd (12/22/2015) [-]
the U.S is to blame for that Middle East war. Putin exposed U.S for buying oil from ISIS giving them BILLIONS. If you study it you will see it was the U.S. they even play dumb and try cover it up so they don't get caught. Russia discovered an oil field the ISIS had control of they bombed it and the Americans could not find that oil field in the years they've been there? You are American? Im guessing yes.

I hope to ******* god you are kidding.
You know how narrow the UN mandate to the bombing campaign in Iraq / Syria is? There are first of all NO TACP (tactical air control party) on the ground, so you can't really push them back.
Then, if there is the slighest of possibilities that you might hit civilians, you leave the target.

I'm not even american and I'm thumbing you down.
You can't blame foreigners for a civil war, EVEN if we gave them billions upon billions of dollars, M16's and hellfire missiles (Which we haven't, since most of their vehicles, weaponry and clothing is blackmarket, russian or from a failed humanitarian effort; like the toyotas). We can't plant ideas of jihad or genocide into their minds; no matter how much we support either side we can't force ideals upon them.

the only place the u.s buys billions in oil is from Canada XD

Destabilizing both Libya and Syria was primarily in the interest of the EU states actually, especially Syria, they really really want that pipeline to force Russian prices down, why do you think Assad and Russia are such good friends? :^(

I'm American m8, and I agree, us and the rest of the west are responsible for destabilizing the mid-east, in the interest of our Wahhabi friends in SA and to maintain oil interest in our favor. Not that I care too much, I just think we should put in our own strongmen, some military dictator, again. It seems the only way shias and sunnis don't go off massacring each other. I just dislike the dishonest rhetoric of "democracy" and **** , democracy sucks, and Arabs are particularly bad at it.

To us every civilian in Baghdad was a terrorist.
These Fedayeen are now in civilian clothes that makes everybody free game,
But if they came in our perimeter, we lit 'em up.
And when we would pull the body out, and when we would search the car, we would find nothing.
This took place time and time again. No harm, no foul, that's OK, don't worry about it,
Because this is a new type of war, this is an eradication."

> and by innocent, i mean innocent of receiving punishment of torture and death i.e. 'war'
that's not how the word "innocent" works though. You are saying they don't deserve a war. That's the work you are looking for. But what are they innocent of?
#94 to #12 - chudy (12/23/2015) [-]
What you're saying is that people that live in a country at war with another country are all guilty by definition because they're the same nationality. It's like calling every single German a Nazi during ww2 which is far from true, seeing how many attempts there were on Hitler's life, and how many citizens got into trouble for helping out jews.
Picture this:
You're just living your life peacefully, not bothering anyone, going to work everyday, going out with friends and enjoying a couple of beers once in a while, and then you're suddenly called to arms because your leader is a power hungry retard or your country is under attack. It's not your choice really - either go into battle or be sentenced to death for treason. Now do you really deserve to die ? Does your family deserve to die, just because they're caught up in the conflict ? What are they guilty of ? Living in the ******* country or what ?
The only guilty people there are the ones pulling the strings, and those taking advantage of the war to fulfill their financial or bloodthirsty, violent desires.

Well, between it being a TV show, and the fact that he could choose to eat it over the course of several months, I think it'll be alright. He used pretty large props for his show. If you speak English fluently and enjoy food you would probably enjoy it. It's called Good Eats. It can be watched on Netflix, all you have to do is go into the settings and switch your nationality from whatever you are, to the US and you can watch a whole new list of shows that Netflix thinks people in the US want to see.

If you don't have netflix... Youtube has most of it.

Peanut butter is a sign that the peanut butter gods love us and want us to be happy.
The way it is made.
When the stars are aligned, and the moon is full, the gods bequeath unto the earth a massive basket of holy peanuts. The peanuts are first blessed by the high chaplains of the church of peanut. Then, it is taken to the monastery of the roasted nut. Here, the nuts are ground into fine powder by monks trained in the holy art of "Peanut-fu" The powder is then mixed with water that was gathered from a pond on the top of a misty mountain that is rumored to be the holy ground for all nutkind. The holy mixture is stirred by blind orphans who have trained their entire lives to stir the holiest of the foodstuffs. Then, with a final blessing, the mixture is then sent to supermarkets and gas stations, to be consumed and spread the holy work of the peanut gods into our bodies to prolong the life of the universe itself.

And that, my child, is how peanut butter is made.

"Except for a few of the brass?" The Rape of Nanking occurred a few years before the time during which this show was set. It's not only officers and politicians that are guilty of abuses; it's such a dumb trope that soldiers are all just honorable people fighting for their respective countries, when in fact a good share of human suffering during wartime is caused by men with no accountability being given weapons and left unsupervised (yes, I'm aware that he said "almost everyone," but hundreds of thousands of murderers and rapists do not constitute a negligible fraction). The Japanese military during the Second World War is a perfect example of this, with the tens of millions of rapes and murders their regular army committed. The Soviets were also particularly infamous for their abuses of civilians, especially with regards to the rape of German women. Hell, as someone who aspires to be an officer in the American military upon graduation, I'll admit that there are ****** people in the American military as there are in any large group. We've had Silver Star recipients who molested their own kids. It's important to acknowledge that some people are just complete sociopaths or sadists, and that not only leaders are responsible for all of the horrors of war. This also isn't to say that civil and military leadership isn't responsible for a large (even completely disproportionate) amount of wartime suffering, but they do not hold sole responsibility.

Christianity is taken directly from Judaism, which doesn't a 'hell', but instead has Sheol. Originally, Sheol was believed to be a place where all the dead, regardless of character, went to sort of "forget" their life. Later, this was changed to have multiple 'sections', separating the righteous and the wicked, though both eventually get redeemed after the resurrection of Christ. Later Greek translations of the word Sheol, as "hades", or more specifically "Tartarus", is partially what gave rise to the concept of eternal damnation that Christian theology adopted. The very word 'hell', is borrowed from the old Germanic 'hel', which referred to their concept of an underworld, but which literally meant "to hide". I could include citations, gather more evidence, and Jewish friends to dig up the actual scriptures, but I'm not interested in writing a full essay as a reply to an FJ post.
TL;DR version: Christianity formed from a Judaic cult, and most of their differing opinions are due to mistranslation/borrowing from other religions.

Unless you're part of a religion that believes in predetermination. Then if your baby dies before it can atone for the sin of being born it goes to hell. : D

I'm not even reading the comments because I know they are all full of little boys trying to be intellectual about war and hell when none of them have ever done **** .
#90 - improbable (12/23/2015) [-]
technically you could say they are not innocent because if you believe in hell then you also believe that most people will go to hell since the way is broad that lead to destruction

I like it how we have a couple comments saying how much of a **** storm the comments are, yet I've seen FAR worse ********** in ******* Undertale Content.
May get worse as time goes on, but this is barely getting my damn boots dirty in terms of **** .
