And why do people who have read the books somehow feel superior that they read it before watching a film...   
   
A lot of people have't heard of the books before the films, it gets people into it.   
   
Also, If you're like me and don't read much. I won't get the books, doesn't mean you have to be an asshole are ruin the movie. I like movies, I watch movies more than I read books

Well, the point of a good adaptation is to pleas old fans, while bringing in new ones. Spreading spoilers around is just alienating any new fans.

I wonder if they'll kill Fili and Kili along with Thorin in the last movie, like in the book.   
The movie storyline has strayed from the book's enough to save those two, I'd say.
