I would highly suggest you look up Introvertion/extrovertion
Go on youtube or something, take a test to see what you are if you want to

Alot of the pople who don't socialize as much
(don't go to parties, don't neccesarily talk to you when you are around them or dont go out as much)
don't have a social anxiety, their brains just aren't wired to do that kind of stuff. They're introverted.

Here is the deal in short:
Too much social stimuli = stress
Too little social stimuli = depression
Introverts take a looong ass time to reach a critically low point of social stimuli compared to extroverts.
If you diddn't know too much stress over time can actually physically damage you.
In other words: being very social can acctually hurt an introvert.

Every time i hear someone ask me or someone else like
''Why don't you be more social?'' or
''Why don't you go out and have fun?''
it just makes me wanna choke someone to death.
Mothafuggas oughta' know this **** , seriously.
Lots of people are treated as wierd or simply outcasts just becuase they are introverted, even when there is nothing wrong about being introverted, it's really more positive than anything else.
Seriously, go look it up, knowledge is the greatest weapon against ******** .

**** , man. People like this piss me off. I don't care how hard it is to be more social, the guy is taking a keen interest in your well being, and is giving you advice. You don't need to turn around and be a sarcastic dickhead. You could say; "Ah, man, thank you for the advice, but it's just not that easy! I will definitely try, however." Instead of being a douchebag.

I dislike this post
simply because I don't think Mr. Rogers would EVER call someone a "dickhead" or a "douchebag"
don't you taint his image with your foul language

I'm fine with talking to people if I have a reason to talk to them. Like when I'm at work and I have a customer, I can talk to them and answer all their questions just fine.

However, if it's someone I have no reason to talk to, it's very strange to me. I don't know them, never talked to them before in my life, whatever I say to them is unnecessary use of air. I guess people are off-put by the fact that if they talk to me, I'll answer, but say nothing more. I pretty much operate under "speak when spoken to" unless I'm close to that person.

I used to be heavily introverted, but then I developed a level of self confidence that I haven't had in a long long time. With confidence...no wait, I'm still an introvert, because being social is something you learn through time, but a tendency to prefer small gatherings of people you are close with over a room of strangers is founded in your personality, and who the **** are you to be telling people how their personality should be.

Instead, I use my confidence to say "Because I don't ******* want " when people think to give me that sort of ******** advice.

I have social phobia. I get this.
People treat me like I'm stupid or something for being a nervous **** because they don't understand.

I'm a pretty social guy, and I had a friend who was a hardcore introvert. He really only talked to me and a few others, and did everything alone. I, like most people, thought that he would have more fun if he joined other people or was social. So we would always try to invite him to parties or concerts or whatnot. Strangely, he didn't seem to have any fun. I finally asked him why he didn't enjoy it. He replied "What made you think I was unhappy before? Because I was. What does my social relativity matter, as long as I'm happy?" And those words changed my ******* life.

I feel like I may be the only person on the internet that can talk to anyone.
And you dont know how frustrating it is to see people make it out to be such a big deal.
Just stop giving a **** and say hi to everyone, Some ones bound to say hi back.
Its how I've made all my friends.

That's kind of the equivalent of saying "I don't see the big deal with depression. When I'm sad, I just go and watch a movie or play my video games then I feel better". It's a mental condition; the people with it realise that it's irrational but just aren't able to and don't know how to get rid of the anxiety when around people.

Maybe if you actually had social anxiety, you wouldn't be in a crowded place. It's just edginess to attract attention. I'm not gonna make this sound reasonable. Let the red thumbs ensue.

Or

I ******* hate people who post **** like this. Yes, yes you ******* can suddenly do it. I used to have severe depression and was extremely introvert. Know why I'm not anymore? I decided I was going to just change. It's not that ******* hard. Nothing is stopping you from doing it other than your ******* worthless, lazy personality you worthless pieces of lazy **** . Learn to ******* change

People like you are the reason psychologists turn into the type of arrogant people I hate who feel the need to correct everyone when they're ignorant about psychological processes.

And since seeing your sort of verbal diarrhea, I have taken yet another step to seeing why they feel that need.

some people might have legitimate social anxiety or might be an actual introvert but im sure a lot of people are just pussies and this is pretty much how to solve it. worked for me at least
