so basically i talked to this girl, we'll call her Cindy. We were pretty close, but she was in her own little dating circle, and i didnt want to bother. we grew apart after a while, just stopped talking. A year later this girl we'll call Jessica for some reason decided she had a crush on me. After a few months we finally got comfortable enough to start dating. She was the first girl i ever dated seriously. We were in some kind of love (i'll explain later). She did everything she could to try to make me happy, and the thing is that was hard for her considering her parents wouldn't allow her date, and we were dating behind their backs. About a year and a half later, I ended up in the same class as Cindy. After a while we started to talk and reconnect. i found out she was going through some issues, and i cared about her enough to try to help her out of it. At the time me and Jessica were starting to dull down a bit. She was really dedicated to school, good grades, and performing arts. She rarely had time for me anymore (understandably so) and it was hard for us to plan around things. One summer i started hanging out with Cindy, innocently at first, just hanging out, and doing normal friend things. A while later, the same summer, we became kind of a thing, and we would kiss and stuff secretly. Eventually Jessica found out because one of her friends told her he's seen me and Cindy holding hands once. The last thing i remember was her bawling her eyes out saying to me "just leave, i never want to talk to you ever again". And we'd been through break ups and arguements before, but this time, i knew she absolutely meant it and i wouldn't be able to fix it.

also, heres the other thing.
people have this set idea that when a person cheats, it means they care nothing about the person they cheated on. sometimes thats true. but sometimes its not.
the truth is, i cared worlds about jessica and i loved the hell out of her and i couldn't have imagined being without her.
however the thing is, i was a ******* loser in middle school, and into freshmen year, so having any kind of person show any bit of interest in me, it just drew me in.
The whole thing with cindy started off really innocently, i was helping her with some issues she had. It was pretty all of a sudden that we started to have a thing.
again, this is no excuse or justification of what i did. But it's what happened.

Same thing kind of happened to me.
Ended up cheating on someone I really shouldn't have.

But in the end it seemed like I dodged a bullet. But that could just be because my view of her got completely skewered after the incident.

**** happens and there's sometimes little you can do about it. There is always the opportunity to meet someone else down the road, even if it doesn't seem possible. Nothing's impossible.

you got lucky, i've been paying for it for 4 years now.
i've been treated almost exactly the way i treated the girl i cheated on. (it was my first relationship so i was kind of an asshole who didn't think of anyone but himself.
I used to fuss and whine whenever i didn't get the spend time with her when we planned to. I used to make her go out of her way to spend time with me. I used to get upset about every little thing and sometimes just blow up on her because i was upset about something. She was a great girl and i was an asshole.
For the 2 years i spent with the girl i cheated with, it was constant fussing and whining whenever we didn't spend time together, i was always the one who went out of my way to make her happy. she didn't consider how i felt very often, and she'd blow up about the smallest things.

Even if it was a ****** thing to go through, at least now you have the experience, and get to learn from it. You could tell you were being an asshole, that's already a good enough lesson from it, do whatever you can to avoid being an asshole again.

i mean it was worthwhile in that i learned a major less, but it is a MASSIVE mental/emotional/physical toll. Sometimes you just get beat down so much mentally it starts to take a physical toll on your body.
And believe me, i'm doing everything i can to not be the asshole i was. and if i do say so myself, i'm doing pretty good, but at the expense of my own health sometimes.

Cheating is never an accident and it's awesome that you realise what you did was awful but not cheating has a massive mental/emotional/physical toll? What about the person you cheated on?
If you're struggling to not cheat, it seems you're just destined to be the cheating asshole. But you'll still get loads of women who think they can 'fix' you if they love you enough.

well heres the advice i can give you. I learned my lesson from seeing the pain it caused. I made a promise to myself that i wouldn't make anyone feel like i did ever again. Every time i found myself reverting back to ******* up, i would catch myself and change it.

in your case with the no interest in a girl, i'd say thats something you have to personally figure out. My best guess though is that you need to find a person who actually interests you. If you don't find yourself drawn in by a person, they're probably not right for you and its best to break it off before any feelings are hurt.
i'm sure once you find the right person, that issue will correct itself.
A happy relationship is one where you can enjoy the other persons company and you feel like you can't be without them. If you have no interest in that person, you shouldn't be with them.
