I find that the dress codes are more sexist towards men then women. The answers given to why girls have to wear pants and non-revealing clothing is that "boys will be boys."

What the **** ? So men are just apes that jump around and scream at the sight of a nice ass? Sure, they're probably going to look at it, but it's not going to totally distract them for the rest of the day.

I'm totally against the idea of a girl asking to be raped, but girls who dress in a revealing manner and get upset that men are looking at them are ******* retarded.

As long as you aren't stark naked, I don't give a **** . Leave me alone and wear whatever the hell you want.

Stop blaming your problems on men. Blame it on your retarded school administration.

Pic related to what I'm mad about.

I think the shirts on guys need to be fixed sometimes, because I can see where the "equal" part of the dress code falls apart there. One guy in my English was wearing a shirt so ripped up it was practically a rag, and kept flashing his nipples at people through the holes at everyone and the teachers are okay with it, but they sent a girl home because of ******* spaghetti straps.

The shorts thing I do agree with being a girls' issue only considering that no guys wear short shorts for anything other than jokes, and some girls do push it WAY too far with how much they can show, I've seen borderline underwear at my school and it made sense that it was not allowed. But the shirts thing gets me because what the school considers inappropriate is really stupid, and it's a lot more equal in what girls and guys try to get away with, and I REALLY don't need to see some guy's hairy ass stomach at school, I keep my shirt on because I know it's respectful (and I'm hairy too)

TLDR: Short shorts are definitely just girls pushing their luck and being angry when it's inappropriate, but the "fairness" of the dress code when it comes to shirts can be really inconsistent and come off as favoring guys, who should also be covering up their stomachs in school.

They don't just ask women about it. But everyone.

...I guess technically a place with a dress code against e.g. short skirts is also telling the men not to wear short skirts.

I think it depends on the institution. If you're going to tour the vatican, cover up, but there's nothing wrong with a pair of shorts in school on a hot day.

My work makes males tuck shirts in but women don't have to.
Also women don't have to do sensitivity training for 3 hours.

God the misogyny of our culture knows no bounds.

Isn't this more of a fact rather than an opinion?

If anyone has said it's discrimination against women then feminists probably said it. We all know how butthurt they get about small things like this..

dress codes are a joke. men get strict clothing restrictions and so do women, but when do women ever get reported for it? i had a sexual assault charge put on me because i complained about a woman hanging out of her shirt practically. i complained that it wasn't fair and they modified it because i was VERY well known for being a gentleman. i make it my job to be kind to people and this is why, because a guy can get screwed where as a woman 'oh she's dressing like a slut, butter not say anything' its stupid. women get away with a LOT of things because 'its comfortable' i'd be more comfy in shorts, but you don't' see me breaking dress code for it*

**** dress codes. Girls should dress more slutty. Be a good girl and show some ass. That's what men want to see.
