"It is widely agreed upon by historians and anthropologists that syphilis was present among the indigenous peoples of the Americas before Europeans traveled to and from the New World." I also can't find anything scientific about llamas ever having syphilis.

Think the syph got it's current very harmful form in Europe though, it was milder in the New World.

There's lots of speculation around that; they're not entire sure. All they know for a fact is that the america's had it before Columbus came, and the first real outbreak came after Columbus returned.

For sure, not everything is set in stone when it comes to the origin of most diseases. :/

Very true. I think besides AIDS and maybe the plague, Syphilis is the only one we really care about.

Also IIRC Syphilis was named by the Greeks for a hero that caught the disease or something.

Not 100% sure, that's just something I remember when I did a report on it for health class like 6 years ago.

"The name for syphilis is derived from Fracastoro's 1530 epic poem in three books, Syphilis sive morbus gallicus ("Syphilis or The French Disease"), about a shepherd boy named Syphilus who insulted Greek god Apollo and was punished by that god with a horrible disease." So not made by the Greeks but it was about a Greek. You were close

"This theory is apparently incorrect, as the treponematosis affecting llamas is distinct and different from the human form.". Treponema pallidum is the causal agent of the syphilis and it seems that doesn't affect llamas.

....Yes it is.

That's how AIDS started, by people eating infected monkey meat.
As long as it's undercooked and still kinda bloody then you can get any blood disease from eating infected meat.

hm, no, actually some retard actually ****** a monkey, cooked meat looses the virus as it dies because (and im not lying) even warm water kills aids, the best area where they can survive is blood (if its temperature is the human one) and reproductive juices (same temperature)

No, actually. That not how AIDS was spread to humans. It was spread the same way things like avian flu were: the disease was around people so much for so long that it evolved to be able to infect us. They eat monkeys infected with aids for thousands of years, eventually the aids is going to find a way to jump to humans at some point between killing and eating it.

Nope.

That's just insane.

Which is why I said undercooked and bloody.

This spread far quicker than one guy ******* a monkey and then passing it on. Whole villages of people ate infected meat from a certain group of monkeys.

dude, do you know how much gay people goes to africa to **** with the blackies?
seriously man, here, let me tell you a story
i live in peru,
here in peru there is a ... lets call it "state" named "Chincha" in the times when the spanish were "colonizing" Peru they brought here lots of slaves (ovbiously black slaves as in that time black people were the most used slaves) after the peruvian independence day slaves decided to stay here and they set themselves up in Chincha, in the 70's to 80's (or seriously after that i don't know, i learned about this in my peruvian history class but im not quite good remembering years) i do believe there were north american tourists visiting the country and also gay ones, who went to chincha to **** with the blackies, 3 to 4 years later 70% or more of the population in chincha was already infected , the infection sttoped spreading then because people realized this and stopped it

The villages ate the meat, got infected or became carries (some africans have a genetic advantage towards aids by not being affected by the disease but only carrying it) then the westerners ****** the villagers, took them as slaves, took them home, more people ****** them, more people got aids blah blah blah you know the story.

The point is that the disease first came from eating infected meat.
