I bet Bill Murray masterminded Shkreli's arrest just so he could abscond with the album. Not that anyone will believe me.
User avatar #12 to #11 - wrpen (12/20/2015) [-]
Yes, hello, Joss Whedon? I have a movie idea... Alright, so in the aftermath of Martin Shkreli's arrest, which we see at the opening of the movie, Bill Murray, cast as Himself, is seen absconding from the Shkreli estate with a silver box... So, we then cut to a number of people in gangster outfits, so they're looking at the news report, the FBI claims they don't have the record, and the middle one goes "God dammit, Bill". So-

Okay, no, sir, if you hang up now you will regret it for- SIR IT'S CALLED LOST IN WU-TANGSLATION AND- **** .

I don't understand any of this? Who bought the Wu Tang clan album? What does Bill Murray have to do with it? Why did so many people get arrested?

?????

**ingloriousgamer used "*roll picture*"**
**ingloriousgamer rolled image**Martin Shkreli is a ceo who made a 12.50 drug cost 750 for no reason, then bought the only copy of the new wutang album in an auction. In the Contract for the raffle, he may not sell it or profit off it but he may listen to it or distribute it for free. There is also a clause that Bill murray or WuTang may attempt one hiest to steal the album back with no legal repercussions. Also Martin Shkreli was arrested for fraud and **** bc hes an asshole

Awesome description.

That roll tho bruh!
User avatar #44 to #36 - kidwreckless (12/20/2015) [-]
no legally binding contract can give you permission to break the law so sadly wu tang or bill murray aren't allowed to steal it back no matter what the contract said HOPE THEY'LL STILL TRY! **** MARTIN SHKRELI
#48 to #44 - comradewinter ONLINE (12/20/2015) [-]
As long as the clause essentially means he automatically allows Wu Tang and Bill Murray one entry ticket to visit him at any time regardless of whether or not he's at home, it wouldn't be breaking and entering. That said, he could've bought the album with an arsenal of lawyers ready to still sue for it. I mean, it's not like he has a reputation to protect.
User avatar #50 to #48 - kidwreckless (12/20/2015) [-]
it would still be theft because it's his property Shkreli's property..he spent $2 million for a reason lol

#52 to #50 - comradewinter ONLINE (12/20/2015) [-]
Well, if it's fake I guess there's nothing to it. I reckoned it would be a fairly funny deal. If he does consent to a tryout for a takeback, it's technically not theft, though, seeing as it is consent.
#55 to #52 - kidwreckless (12/20/2015) [-]

well i mean if shkreli doesnt press charges than its fine. he did say he knew about the clause when signing it. either hes actually going to allow it or he knew it wouldnt be legal even if it did say that. either way i hope it gets stolen or he releases it for free......even though thats so far fetched **** martin shkreli
#57 to #55 - comradewinter ONLINE (12/20/2015) [-]
But your source just stated it was a viral joke, not an actual clause? Or did I read it wrong? Too drunk to analyze it now.

if I'm correct, the guy who bought the aids pill, bought the rights to this album and is demanding people return it to him, or something along those lines.

yeah, no they werent "aids pills" they were pills for toxoplasmosis for people with compromised immune systems_ such as people with aids and cancer treatment therapy_.
It also is a very very small percent of people who use these pills because, again, its for a rare number of people who meet the requirements of having a compromised immune system. The media blew the whole thing about of proportion because "muh aid survivors/cancer patients medicines ((" makes great headlines, especially when people, like yourself, dont read into it.

Not justifying his dickishness, but it was in no way, as big of a deal as they made it out to be. I have a compromised immune system from a high dose prednisone treatment for auto-immune disease with no insurance and i couldnt give 2 ***** less about it.
User avatar #40 to #25 - Zaxplab (12/20/2015) [-]
"See, he's not ruining the lives of people with AIDS, he's ruining the lives of people with toxoplasmosis. Also, it's only a few people, so who cares? lol"
User avatar #42 to #40 - hasinvadedyou (12/20/2015) [-]
It sounds pretty obvious you dot know what toxoplasmosis. Most people have it its literally everywhere, most people get a flu like symptoms and they go away only a small percent of a percent of people actually require medicine to treat it.
i said :
"Not justifying his dickishness, but it was in no way, as big of a deal as they made it out to be."
People were acting like he was stealing mecidine from cancer/aids patients on a large scale when its more like a few dozen. It doesnt make it ok but i think honestly what he did was more of a wake-up call to people to question pricing on medicine because if he can raise medicine 5000% over night who is to say they arent already raising prices on medicine beyond the normal profit margines to be substainable but on a much larger scale that nets a larger profit.
User avatar #46 to #42 - Zaxplab (12/20/2015) [-]
Oh, forgive me. They have toxplasmosis AND aids.
User avatar #49 to #46 - hasinvadedyou (12/20/2015) [-]
obviously trolling, or rearded. you can have severe toxoplasmosis without aids, and aids doesnt mean you will get toxoplasmosis, its a rare chance that someone who gets it till end up needing medical attention. The people who can get a severe case of it are people with lowered immune systems *such as* people with aids/in cancer treatment The media didnt demonize him because of how many people it affected, which is very few, they wanted their "man hates aids/cancer patients!" headlines to draw people in because 'what monster hates cancer?!'. I am not defending his actions but i am saying they railroaded the **** out of him and turned him into some super villian when there is nothing in place to stop people from doing this at any time and there should be. It was because of FDA regulations which give him an almost 2 year window to sell the drug for w/e price he wanted because it takes 2 years for generic medicine to get approved that he manipulated their system.
User avatar #53 to #49 - Zaxplab (12/20/2015) [-]
So you're saying his monstrous actions affected more than just people with aids and toxoplasmosis? Not doing too good a job with the "only a few people" argument here.

Also, I don't care that it was "only a few people." I don't see how that's relevant or how it justifies what he did.
User avatar #58 to #53 - hasinvadedyou (12/20/2015) [-]
who is saying it did ive said 2-3 times now im not defending his actions, but instead of demonizing this guy we should be concerned with making sure this isnt happening now with other drugs and doesnt happen in the future. Just because something can happen to more than one specific group of people doesnt mean it happens more often. Aids lowers immune system it doesnt mean ull get all of the thousands of diseases and virus's already in the air. Im stating that aids isnt the only thing that can lower immune systems this low, im not saying that because they are this low that you will get a severe case of it. Just like leaving your door unlocked doesnt mean you're going to get robbed by a guy named mike with blonde hair and green eyes.(the example is very specific because its a very specific/low chance that you will get severely ill from this disease. Again, im not defending him or trying to say these people dont matter but there is a much bigger picture here that needs to be addressed and people get bogged down by this one man, acting like hes the only one doing/done this. Hes just the first one (that im aware of) who has been publically shamed for it.
User avatar #33 to #25 - tsagu [OP](12/20/2015) [-]
SO wait, the pills did help people who had aids? So while I wasn't right, I wasn't technically wrong either, just didn't have the whole story.
#14 - anon (12/20/2015) [-]
Every time I hear about this guy, he takes on a whole new level of faggotry.

> Jacks the prices of aids pills 5000% after buying the rights to them.
> Buys the one and only Wu-Tang clan for himself From what I've been told, he hadn't even listened to it yet. Just bought it for the sake of having it. Probably would have made a move to profit off of that as well going against the artist's wishes.
> Commits securities fraud only to be released on $5 million bail bond
