carbon is my favourite. but the first Shift game was awesome. i got the impression that not a lot of people liked it because it was track racing however
It was so different from Underground 2 that I just couldn't enjoy it ( I was like 11 mind you).
You couldn't customize individual parts, but instead all the body modifications came in packs, and overall the customization wasn't as versatile as it was in underground 2 and I remember hating how the cops always came after you when you just tried to make it to a mission.
Carbon wasn't too bad IMO. Not as good as most wanted, but since it was damn near the same game it wasn't that bad. The introduction of subtle part alteration was pretty fun to a 12 year old me. Neither of them can live up to the glory of the original Hot Pursuit duo or the Underground(s) though
The police mechanics weren't as good in my opinion, and gave less relevant information (total cops in pursuit ever vs currently active cops in pursuit).
I liked the art style less as well.
But the subtle part alteration was good.
Kinda similar to the Tony Hawk Pro Skater games after Project 8. Man, some devs/ publishers just don't know how to keep a good thing going (or at least kill it off at the right time).
Project 8 sucked. I played from THPS 2 all the way through to THP8 and The game the was the best was probably either THUG 1 or THAW, just based on general size, playability, and fun.
I just reinstalled the game becasue of this contenc, and I have decided to binge on it for the next days.
Here´s my pride, the Evo with all the Skunkworks/Junkyard upgrades, by far the fastest car in the game.
this game is actually my favourite game of all time, bought the game 3 times due to it breaking all 3 times and i'll buy it again. also the satisfaction of getting your beamer back after the final race oh god diddly damn.
So worth my money X4
