>vader had one **** fit when he heard the emperor had been manipulating him all along, and even then he maintained his composure a lot better than kylo
>kylo throws a temper tantrum every freaking minute
**firstflame used "*roll picture*"** **firstflame rolled image**They could at least put a mysterious scar in his face that's why he joined the dark side
We know why he joined the Dark Side, though. He felt a need to live up to his grandfather's legacy, and Snoke saw that as an opportunity and corrupted him.
Half of the theater erupted in laughter after seeing his face, and I thought to myself, no wonder he's such an autistic faggot - He definitely looks the part
I don't know why people were shocked, we knew who was playing him and this photo came out months ahead of the movie, and we knew he would be helmetless in the last fight. What really annoyed me was everyone was like "maybe Kylo Ren is Luke", he's way too tall for one thing, but the main problem is that just checking the ******* imdb page or being the least bit informed would have destroyed that theory. Idiots.
I don't know why everyone laughs about his face.
I'd rather have a not-so-good looking actor who's actually good at acting (In my opinion he is) than a good looking actor who sucks at acting (like, in my opinion, Anakin from the Prequels was).
And furthermore he's not directly ugly, he's just not a model-type.
At first I was shocked, then I cringed because when I see him, all I can think of is his role on HBO's Girls where he plays a hipster with lost of self-esteem issues and weird fetishes
no like this guy actually stole my girlfriend like she started hanging out with him and going to his house then she cheated on me and left me for him and she was like my first girlfriend, lost my virginity to her, my first love etc etc
Mine was with my local comic shop, we had rented out a theatre for the thursday release. There was a bunch of people who were dressed up who came with us yada yada. When the part came up, the owner of my comic shop, his daughter (who was about 7-8) said something along the lines of "put the helmet back on" and the entire theatre was roaring with laughter.
tl;dr little girl wanted him to put the helmet back on
>can stop a laser blast mid-air
I'm sure other Force users can do that, but deflecting the blast instead of holding it while you have a conversation makes a lot more sense
>can suck thoughts from your mind
Mind powers are Force 101
>takes a laser blast from Chewie's weapon
Chewie shot him from fifty feet away with a projectile weapon and pain makes him stronger
>not afraid to show his face
Like everyone but Stormtroopers and the guy who needed a respirator to live
>often approaches his own enemies
When you're supposed to be a scary Sith lieutenant and your only weapon is a sword, you don't have much of a choice
>fights while bleeding out in freezing cold
He was hit by an energy weapon. He opened the wound when he punched himself. Not likely to be bleeding out until he got his hand cut off, at which point he was no longer shown.
>labeled a crybaby
Because he was having constant tantrums and looked like he was about to cry in every scene where his face was showing
> looses to an ex storm trooper traitor and an untrained force sensitive girl
> has childish/crybaby tamper tantrums
> has a hardon for Darth Vader - wears a ******* mask even though he doesn't really need it because he looks like a pussy
> Ren = pussy, confirmed
He lost that lightsaber battle due to tanking a bowcaster shot, You seen that **** flip a stormtrooper and turn his spine into mush earlier in the movie so that's quite a feat in itself.
Also he was still pretty messed up even if he doesn't show it from Impaling the everliving **** out of his dad no homo and therefore wasn't fighting to his full potential.
warcaster flipped stormtroopers close range. chewbacca no scoped kylo across the map.
and he was still a trained sith versus a girl who has never fought with a lightsaber, and a failure of a stormtrooper.
then again, i think the girl whatsomacallit should share some of the blame..she is a freaking mary sueish character (even tho i hate using that word...)
He isn't fully trained yet as pointed out by snoke when he says it's time to complete his training also remember Ren wanted to try and recruit Rey and therefore on top of everything else was going easy on her.
There's also the fact that Rey is obviously pretty powerful with the force and an already trained fighter with a two handed staff so I'm sure at least some of those skills would transfer across.
yeah he isnt fully trained. but even padawan anakin managed to fight better than he did againts much better opponents (dooku for instance) he literally got his ***** kicked by untrained girl and a stormtrooper.
and a staff is actually different from a sword..the skills dont transfer..also there is no indication she was even that skilled with the staff considering we never saw her use it and there is no indication she has combat experience what so ever. not to mention lightsabers are said to be even more intricate weapons than a sword, and it takes years of practice to even safely wield one.
and anakin was also powerful in the force. so powerful in fact, that had it not been for that incident with lava in mustafar, he could have become even more powerful than sidious. but again, untrained potential =/= training.
I don't like using other lore in the Star Wars universe for the movies, but really strong force users can 'commune' and use force abilities to increase their reflexes, reaction, speed etc.
I don't know if that is what they were going for, but at the end when Kylo was doing his "I can teach you" it seemed like she closed her eyes and let the force itself take a stronger hold in her. That coupled with how wounded he already was and most likely very mentally ****** up after killing his father, I was satisfied with how it ended. A lot of other **** annoyed the hell out of me in the movie though.
Take Naga Shadow for example, made a star go supernova using only the force.
and force users like kylo (who already should have the potential to surpass snoke, otherwise snoke would never have bothered taking him as a student as per the rule of two) who actually have training should still be above it. after all they are able to increase their reflexes and reactionspeed far beyond that of a untrained one.
and naga also had more training. also im not exactly sure if he actually is able to do star level stuff....
Considering the fact that they are related, their potential would be the same. Kylo is bloody inexperienced though. Granted, more than Rey by a considerable amount, and yet he is still a novice with great potential himself and he was wounded physically, and perhaps mentally. Also no, the training doesn't just make you a superhuman all the time, it takes skill and concentration and it lasts for a short while - thus it is a combat ability that only strong force users can use in combat.
The rule of two. Meaning that there will only be one master and one apprentice, where the apprentice is supposed to always try and overcome the master, to grow stronger, and in doing so, makes sure the master stays strong(er). **** that there's only two sith in the entire galaxy at any given time, **** is so ******* stupid and utterly ridiculous.
Yes, of course he had more training - It's bloody naga Shadow. Point was that with just force alone he made a star go supernova once, during the great hypserspace war when he was 'defeated' and headed back to Korriban.
wait...are we treating the mary is lukes/hans daughter thing seriously now? or was there some sort of informercial that i missed?? and kylo was still a jedi padawan with actual training enough to do such things as stop a blaster in mid air and extract information from peoples minds. not to mention lead a rebellion againts the jedis and kill them all. and yes, a jedi and a sith can use the force to bolster their movement, reaction speed and such all the times. its how they are able to react to blaster fire and such.
and the rule of two also states that the student must have the potential to become stronger than the master. thus ensuring that the sith will always be the strongest possible and continue growing stronger. compared to the old sith empire, where siths killed each other, making them weaker and weaker as potentially strong sith were more likely to be killed off by a gang attack of older siths.
and yes indeed. thats why its stupid to say a force sensitive with no training, is as good as a force sensitive with A LOT of training.,
I never said she was as good? Luke had a child of his own with someone else, obviously. Her reaction to touching his saber and that awakening her properly: 2+2 = 4. Put it together.
Are you daft.
I said given the situation and the fact that he didn't want to kill her but make her his apprentice, and that she used the force at the end made it a good result/conclusion of it.
Yes, they are able to react well - but they are not superhuman all the time, they need to use the force to jump higher, run faster and the like, and it is not limitless. That he is able to do something he was taught and trained to do is obvious - don't know why you're bringing that up. He didn't lead **** , he took orders, no one there respected him worth ******** , just threatened by what he could do.
There are different rule of two's, there are one ridiculous one where it's meant to be just two grand siths and no more. Then there is the one where there are several, but restricted to groups of two - one master, one apprentice. Sometimes the apprentice is sent to another master for a mission (making them 3 for one mission), sometimes two masters and their apprentices team up. But always just one master, one apprentice as you said, to avoid them killing each other all the time to grow stronger - and ultimately just making the sith empire weaker.
Making a star go supernova =/= being able to channel force to heighten your battle capabilities for a little bit. Come on now man. I'm out, you have a major ******* hard on for Kylo and for some reason hating on Rey, can't deal with people like this.
still.just a theory. that does a lot of jumps. and in that case the whole comparison between the two is still null. so stop being daft.
kylo was a leader of his own order of knights, kylo is one of the higher ranking officers of the order, only one being at his level is the blond dude. and jedis and sith still have the innate force bolstering. otherwise, yet again THEY WOULDNT BE ABLE TO REACT TO THE FREAKING BLASTER FIRE.
the first one you talk of is the rule of two as set forth by bane revan and such. which is what the current sith are dealing, the one you speak of after that is the original one, which was destroyed because it was ineffective. stop being daft
....what? the whole conversation i have been talkign about how both of them are shoddily constructed....how freaking stupid are you anon???
Well Snoke may be a sith lord but Kylo is part of the Knights of Ren which is more of a group thing rather than the rule of two, In the flashback when Rey touches the light saber you can see there is a whole group of dark user's standing around Kylo.
I suppose we'll just have to wait and see, we're probably both horribly wrong. My wild ass prediction is Rey and Kylo will do a 180 by the end of the trilogy and Rey will be evil mcwevil and Kylo will become the good ole Ben that we know and love.
You're probably right but I think there's a chance they're going to try and top the I am your father by doing something radical or at least part of me hopes they do...
Maybe spintropper will turn out to have been Finn's father all along.
I can't remember did spintrooper die?
pretty sure he got a blaster shot to the chest... and considering the whole thing so far has been a retelling of the original trilogy..im not sure. honestly i would love it if they tried to take more chances...and your idea is refreshing and interesting. im just sure they wont go that way however....it strays too far from the rules of conduit in movies.
She used force battle meditation a very hard to learn skill that until this film could only be taught by Jedi masters to skilled Padawans after years of training.
It's not actually without precedent. In the EU novel "Champions of the Force", Jacen Solo used a lightsaber to fight off some dark side creatures under the control of the spirit of Exar Kun under the instruction of force ghost Luke he got better . Jacen was a child at the time.
Unfortunately JJ wiped that from canon so it's legitimacy is shaky at best.
Sure she's untrained but she's incredibly force sensitive if she was able to resist Ren's mind rape thing which would lead me to believe that was one of the major roles in how he was beaten alongside the whole Patricide thing and the wookie noscope. Aside from obviously the plot protection she has.
And sure a staff is different from a sword but I'd imagine someone with weapons training would be better at wielding a lightsaber than someone with none and I'm pretty sure she uses it when fighting the thugs off when Finn TRAITOR! first sees her. Could be wrong on that one though, Haven't seen it in a while.
again. untrained potential =/= trained fighter. even anakin had the force sensitivity and potential to be stronger than sidious. but that doesnt mean little annie without any training was able to do anything other than yell yippii.
and that was something of a struggle. or a brawl. againts untrained thugs. again. im willing to admit that her mary sue radiation is more to be blamed than kylos sissyness. but him being beaten by mary still doesnt do any good to his already failing rep as a villain.
Thats pretty much the only thing i didnt like about the film; everything comes waay to easy for her - mind trick? - lemme just try it out for the first time with no training.
She never generally seemed incompetent, or over her head, which is somewhat contrary to Luke, who initally was a complete moron, and was lucky to have Solo around. He later picked up the slack, and kicked major butt.
Rey just slipped into the heroine role, a little bit toooo eeeassy
**crislaboy used "*roll picture*"** **crislaboy rolled image**I just realized something about this comic... those are the wrong stormtrooper helmets. The one in the comic is from the galactic empire when it should be the first order.
anyone else think he will construct a Darth Vader costume for episode 8? He lost his helmet after star killer base was destroyed, I doubt he got it back. and now he has a reason to cover his face since ray wounded his face.
