MASSIVE stab in the dark here, but I've recently considered dropping my geology degree in order to become a professional watchmaker, and I was just wondering if there any watchmakers/horology enthusiasts on here who can help a bro out:

How hard is to get into the watchmaking industry?

What key skills are involved? As in, how much maths is there, I hate math.

Any input is appreciated!

"you see this watch? it cost me 33 Million Pounds, made by the finest craftsmen it keeps the time accurate to within half a millisecond over a 100 year time period, it is encrusted with some of the finest, rarest jewels money can buy"
"cool, whats the time?"

I am going to sound like a dumbass but I have never worn a watch for its practical reason as I always have my phone with me and I wear them purely based on how they go with my outfit, for their style, etc.

**thatguyontheright rolled image** that watch looks so ugly.
#57 - anonymous (03/31/2014) [-]
But that watch is so ugly, there are so many beautifully crafted watches out there, but this? i can't see who would wear this, keep it for the sake of having something worth so much money, i'd probably sell it and buy a nice house

I never understood why people color diamonds. Doesn't that decrease the value?

To each their own, I guess.

Gif unrelated.

The discoloration is caused by chemical impurities, but because they are so rare they are worth more. The natural ones are obviously a lot more valuable than the synthetic ones

No natural blue diamonds on it. 2/10 would buy for evil weapons system parts.
