Letting go

If you're depressed, you're living in the past. If you're anxious you're living in the future. If you're at peace you're living in the present.

tali?
My dentist anee told me that letting
gels like pulling a teeth. When it was
pulled em. youve relieved, but haw
many times does your tongue run
itself ever the spot where the tooth
miss was? Probably a hundred times
a day, Just because it was net
hurting veu deosn' t mean tree did net
nettie it. It leaves a gap and
sometimes we see yourself missing
it terribly. It' s geing to take a while,
but it takes time. Should yen have
kept the tooth? No, because it was
causing you so mush pain.
Therefore, mave en and let .
This is the best thing I' ever read, really

...so would brushing your teeth be a metaphor for working things out without having to part with the "tooth"?

I had three teeth taken out by my dentist. I didn't realise until it was too late that they literally just numb you up and yank them out.

Turns out, my teeth's roots are twisted. My dentist was so impressed that she asked to keep them...

This goes along with something i was thinking about earlier. People overusing metaphors to the point they don't even make sense but you go along with them because they feel like inside jokes/comments. It has gotten to the point that every time i see a metaphor i immediately think less of the person using them. They were great back when poets used them correctly but everyone uses them now and everyone says "Oh that's so deep, how did you think of that?". It really isn't you're just putting two things together that kind of sound similar because you want attention for being "smart" or have nothing of actual value to add to the situation. You want a metaphor? ******* metaphors are a plague that spreads between people wanting to sound smarter/deeper than they are.

Okay guys, I might as well spill my guts here, because this got me thinking.

Almost a year ago now, my first girlfriend and love of my life for over 2 and a half years, someone who promised me we'd always be together, broke up with me for another guy. It was the most pain I've ever felt, but I didn't hold it against her for several reasons. I lived in another state and hadn't seen her in more than a year, he was local and had been her good friend for a long time, she stayed my good friend and helped me deal with many of the emotional trauma she caused. Her life is much worse off than mine, and it was brave of her to talk me through my suffering, even if it hurt her too. It would have been so easy for her to just cut me out of her life, but she didn't. She says I'm the best friend she's ever had.

Fast forward one year. I've been in a relationship with another sweet girl, local, who has pretty much every interest in common with me, and who helped close what was left of the wounds left by my breakup. At times she seems like she's the best thing that's ever happened to me, and at other times my mind finds numerous faults with her, although all of them are either petty or solvable just through communication. Keep in mind this is my first local relationship. Meanwhile, my first girlfriend is now single. The guy she left me for broke up with her because she was "too depressing" at times and "too childish" at others. She's diagnosed with chronic depression and has been on meds in the past, but can't afford them now. I've been doing a lot of talking with her, and even though she thought for sure that she would spend the rest of her life with that other guy. She said she tried to stop loving me, but never could, and now breaking up with me for someone else is the thing she regrets most in her life. I've honestly put thought into breaking up with current GF for her, but she said herself that she'd lose respect for me if I did that.

Milk teeth I dunno if they are called milk teeth in english, but whatever. are the first teeth you will ever have, there is less of them than the adult teeth. Once the milk teeth fall out, the permanent adult teeth will grow instead of them. Adult teeth do not regrow.
