That design you're showing wouldn't work though. The point is to stick the pieces together the way they were meant to, with the peg and hole of the lego. Your design would require gluing pieces together. Each one of those semi-spheres would've had to been glued to another semi-sphere facing a different direction, you couldn't use the pegs, and that would defeat the purpose of the challenge.
Exactly and even if they made a better sphere that would be less likely to disintegrate due to its self made bumpiness, it would still weight about 5 tons or whatever they said it did.
The myth would still be busted as the sphere would wreck the cars rather than bounce off of them.

Thats ****** wierd you mention that. I just had some dream about building some huge structure in lego. and all the faces were different colours or stripes just like that ball
