The guns pointing straight at him, but the shots are making a ******* 45 degree turn right out of the barrel. I don't have high hopes for this game, not at all. anyone have any pros/cons to throw in about the beta?
Really really few shooters are out there that bother to 1 to 1 have the gunpoint synced to the shots. Also the bolts going to the sides are meant to simulate recoil, even though the animation is not on the spot. Also it seems like they go so wide is cause the player moved so close and the screen stretches the bolts out.
Also not here for the sake of talking **** , but there are other games out there not from EA where are cases that the player model isn't following the movements of the player. For instances there are cases in CS:GO, where you can see enemy player pointing their gun away from you in an angle, yet already got a hit on you. That can be the the cause of lag and such.
I dunno. It's just funny how people just jump on games to **** on just because of EA, even though they excuse the same "laziness" with other games...
Who said I excuse this kinda **** from any other dev/publisher? Don't try to say you meant others, you would have to be stupid to bring it up here if it wasn't relevant Also I don't think you understand how recoil works, recoil is when the force from bullet firing makes the GUN jump and can make the round go off target if it jumps before it leaves the barrel. If the round/laser projectile leaves the barrel going straight, it shouldn't make a 45 degree turn within 3 inches. And yes a large amount of games do do 1 : 1 with projectiles and the barrel, but please don't say this **** is common. Its ******* bad to look at, I can understand they want to turn down the difficulty, but there are better ways then ******* with in game physics. They could turn down the ROF, reduce the spawns, lower the damage, lower the enemy health, lower the ACTUAL accuracy, make the AI less aggressive, etc. Also I don't know what processes go into making a game camera well, but I would hope making it fishlense isn't one of them
Dude, in pretty much any game that has dynamic reticles the shots go out at an angle. It's just more evident here because this are ***************************** red lasers.
Let's see. You are wrong, it's still not 45 degrees, and still almost none of the multiplayer shooters go beyond generic "gun shake" on models. Also, your last point is basically what the video shows...
How am I wrong? Really, let me hear you answer, because saying its 45 degrees is being generous, some of them appear to go at 50-75. Also I meant to say "don't do 1 :1", noticing that typo now. And no **** the video shows it, this wouldn't be talked about if it wasn't noticeable.
A first person camera is there to simulate the POV of the character. However when it projected to a flat screen, things look rater different, than what a person would see. If the screen is not big enough to reach out of the person's field of view, then it's like walking around, having your hands covering the sight on the two side of your face. The other thing is, when the screen is flat, whatever passes in front of the "camera", it has to reach the edge of the screen either way and in this case, it creates the illusion of the bolts moving at more than 45 degrees, when in reality, if the player was wearing VR goggles, or a curved screen, reaching out of their field of view, it would show that it wouldn't be more than 10-20 degrees.
Also this is what i meant.
"They could turn down the ROF, reduce the spawns, lower the damage, lower the enemy health, lower the ACTUAL accuracy, make the AI less aggressive, etc."
That is exactly what wave 1 is.
Hmm, it seems i've forgotten the effects of a sub 90 FOV, which happens when one happens to be a FOV whore who cant stand anything under 100. And looking at it again im seeing the effects a bit better. I believe I was wrong about that point. Have my favorite webm you educated well thought out faggot Game still feels bad
most fps have npc shooting like this on the lower difficulties. its just not noticeable because its usually bullets not bright red lasers. if you try to pay attention to the bullets youll see it
Pros:
-Its Starwars and if youre like me youve been waiting for this game for ******* ever.
The game play is really good being able to switch to third person does give it a classic feel.
-The battles feel really cool when the teams are equally matched (but thats any game) and has that "Stars Wars" epic feel to it
-Heroes make a return so far the beta only lets you play Luke and Vader but they both control really well and look fantastic
-A.I. battles and survival mode looks like a pretty okay thing to play for awhile
Cons:
-From what I heard theres only 7 maps with more to release later as dlc not sure if its free but a lot of people say it is I just dont trust EA
-No galatic conquest makes you feel like we are back peddling in the series instead of moving forward
-No squad system, only partners, so if you have more than one friend then youre gonna have to choose your favorite
-The walker assault feels really one sided in favor of the Imperialists. Only way to win as a rebel is to have really good air control and tie them up just like the movie.
-The card system works like the burn cards in Titan Fall except if you unlock one its permanently yours with limited uses (Example: You buy the Personal Shield power and you can use it 8 times and the only way to fill it back up is through powerups located in game) I put this as a con because its more of a pain imo
-So far no classes
-Limited Blasters but that could change with the full game
-Only one era
-I dislike that theres no secondary weapon really so it feels like its a cop out so they dont have to make any pistol blasters but at the same time it might be there so you would use your one weapon wisely
-Playing as Rebels feels unbalanced with no land vehicles only turrets which can be used by either team While it does stay true to the movie it makes it really one sided as stated above
-Grenades are so overpowered if one lands on you theres no escape
-The package itself overall feels hollow even with what they have planned. With this game having so much hype.
IMO I feel like DICE could've done something really cool with a story or anything really even if it just copied Dynasty Warriors where you slowly took over a country with A.I. matches
Is it a fun game? Yes. Is it worth 60+ dollars? Not really. More fun games are planned on getting released with the holiday season and all Fallout 4, Bloodborne dlc, Halo 5 even looks promising
I've found the vanilla blasters to be peashooters, sometimes it takes like twenty shots to the chest to kill someone point blank. I find the exact opposite with grenades, they're underpowered, I hit an enemy right in the face with one and it exploded leaving him with half HP. Really ******* hate that cycle rifle as well, in some cases it's just get a free kill card with a ridiculous cooldown.
Maybe I've been unlucky with my grenades then I always seem to get a kill regardless even when they have full health. Could just be my experience as of today I've played only about 30 matches and I feel like the default rebel blast works really welll and I believe you have to get headshots if you want to kill anyone in a timely fashion
Meanwhile in Battlefield, wich is also made by DICE, you can carry a machine gun, pistol, crossbow, grenades, C4 and unlimited ammo packs on you and still sprint forever.
Thats why I feel like its a cop out infinite ammo is nice in Battlefront but with only four blasters and no side arms it just feels like DICE was playing it too safe and didnt add anything interesting or enjoyable weapon-wise
1okay got from this the walker assault is actually like this u either have a **** team or a good team its all there is teams don't scramble so u stay the same i stayed in a game for 8-10 matches and we won every one (tweams switch sides every time) its all depends o team cordination
2 the reason its limited power ups cuz their overpowered i litttelral run into base throw shield up and reset satelites and the thing is i never even run out so im not sure what ur complaining i run into the pickups all the time so never have a loss of them
3 really overpowered grenades? if it lands on u and ur not fast enough to move out of the way ur fuked thats it but if u se one coming i usually dodge and if u try to say the thermal granade that **** takes lkong to blow
4 rebels have sky ships( too many to name so just saying that) if u win air superiority ur golden and unless u want the rebels using ton tns on land i think their doing just fine just focus fire on at st they go down quickly especially with emp grenades
Never said you cant win but not every game is guys that know how to use the air support 90 percent of matches I've had my team cant use the air support very well. Even if you get the satellite uplink every tier without great air support its a lot tougher battle with the rebels. One time playing as the Imperialists my team was getting rekt beyond all hell and we still won just because they couldnt fly
Like i said I find it a pain more than fun to pick up power ups imo rather have a system where you can use it a limited time but they refill every match (Example: You start with 5, you use 3, leaving you with 2. Next match you are reloaded with 5 again) by no means would I rather have it be unlimited I worded it wrong in my previous comment. **** you could even keep up the refills on the battlefield for all I care.
Im comparing it to battlefield 3 grenades. I personally think the fuse and blast radius is rather unbalanced
What you say is true but as stated with my previous comment not everyone uses the ships well. Rebels just have a harder game. Its hard to coordinate every team into doing the right thing its even harder when you only have a partner instead of a whole squad to command around I mean the best moments in battlefield were when me and a group of friends can jump in and turn a game around through 5 guys communicating and using a strategy that we all know
I like how half the comments are people trying to find small details in just making a final statement that because EA is releasing Battlefront its gonna be **** . But without knowings its still in Beta.
Doesn't matter if it's beta... the game's not gonna change because of that. They never do. All they'll do is fix any bugs, add or take minor features... gameplay in general never changes. The game in its final release will look the same as in Beta.
yeah
i'm really liking it so far
only problem is that walker assault is really unbalanced and annoying when you play as rebels, but it's not unbeatable
it's really worth it in my opinion
3 maps and 3 gamemodes
drop zone on 1 map, walker assault on another, and the survival mission thing which is in the video
the beta is 10GB
Downloaded the beta. This is the only game that has a delay for my mouse. So when I try to aim, it takes a bit for it to follow what I've done with my mouse. Anyone else having this problem?
Thanks for the input. I think it's just from being a beta. Tons of flickering with the new patch they rolled out. But the mouse lag was weird, turned down the sensitivity in game and that helped a little.
The other day my mouse kept locking up completely for several seconds, haven't been on it since so I dunno if it's fixed itself. Didn't get the same problem in the menus though.
Nope. There has never been ADS in Battlefront games. It's either hip, or slight zoom in and walk slower kind of thing, you know what old games had. Sniper rifle has optical of course.
