To be perfectly honest, anyone can become better at art, it just takes time and practice just like nearly anything else. Nobody is plopped out of their mother's womb with a paint brush in one hand and Mona Lisa in the other, they work to get where they are.

If you look up art tutorials(seriously, there's a ton of them on the internet. For any art medium and countless amounts of different styles and such), learn about things such as anatomy, shading, effects, etc, and work hard and practice, you will improve.

Hell, I've started drawing more seriously and doing digital art a little over a year ago and I would like to think that I've drastically improved since then. Picture related, it's one of my more recent drawings

Your colouring skills are great and in this specifit picture that puff of condenced breath was a very nice touch. The lake, frozen or not, is beautifully made.
You will become better in making textures, I can see the potential there. Just keep going! One thing you should work on more (judging by these pictures) is the facial anatomy of these animals. The body proportions are quite good and will improve further on their own in time, but the area around the eyes and the ears seems a little odd. I don't know, maybe it's just me. The black one right here has the facial anatomy the most correct. That looks like a wolf. The white one and the one you posted anon look more like doggies.

I like this picture, but I don't get people who draw hyper realism soda cans and regular poeple I mean if you can draw anything in your imagination why waste it drawing curtains?

I would draw dragons, and fantasias and worlds unknown, galaxies and quasars, alien beings, give a shape to the human soul-come on. Seems kind of like a waste. I thought art was about capturing more than what a photograph could.

You are describing people who don't (or can't) draw with hyper realism. Hyper realism artists tend to mostly enjoy drawing still lifes or people(because that is the pinnacle for them), whereas people who draw more of what you describe tend to not care to be hyper realistic.

That's just majority though. There are so many artists in the world now, you'll find everything under the sun.

The problem with drawing from your imagination is that you can't draw something you have not seen or faintly understand. Keep in mind that most art revolves around shapes and line. Dragons and mythical creatures all have a semblance to something else.

That's like me asking you to imagine a shade of blue that you have never seen. You'll get close to something like it, but you will never get it exactly.

I think that drawing something like curtains is technically challenging while at the same time pleasing in the harmony of the setting. I think it could be a good way for novice and master artists alike to learn, - or remember to, appreciate the subtle beauties we are surrounded by in everyday settings, and see the complexity in the seeming simplicity of it all.

Sometimes it's not about being the biggest, baddest, most flashy one out there. I suppose it depends on what you are trying to produce - both in terms of picture, but also for your personal reflection. That is what true art is, something that makes you feel.
