I've been to Japan multiple times having friends living there. I've been to rural and urban areas from all across the country. The people there are xenophobic, yes, but they're xenophobic to everyone, including whites. Not so much among youngsters in urban areas, but people in rural, especially elders, don't want foreigners on their soil. That was a part of Japanese culture during WW2 as well, but it has been like that since forever. Ever since the Portuguese landed on their shores, Japan has received the short end of allowing foreigners into their lands. They've always been isolated, and as a result grown distrustful of anything that isn't Japanese. That has nothing to do with Hojo and war crimes, they are just racist. Do Russians holding grudges against Germans swear by Stalinist rule?

Not Korean or Chinese, can't speak on their behalf. But like I said, they are generally xenophobic. They've hated Koreans and Chinese since long before WW2, so being distrustful or even hating people hailing from those countries is just old-fashioned, not Hirohito/Hojo-rule specific.

At least teach your people what you did. It's just proof the Japanese shame overcomes the humility and pride of country they so brag about. Why delete the fact you screwed up? Why would you deny your war crimes? Germany lives up to it, apologizing and teaching their students what they did. They do this to make sure they're taught what Germany did in the past, as a memorial and in hopes of preventing another horrible reenactment. Their power in Europe is acceptable because of their humility. Japan is anything but humble if they deny everything. The rest of the world knows and they deny what they did. What does that say?
