That actually ended, but if we count sequels then it's still going. On top of that, there is a guy on fimfiction who wrote approximately 4.4 million words following one story over the 10 entries called the Blooming Moon Chronicles/99 Worlds Saga. Not sure how it reads, but it currently beats out both Project Horizons and that brawl story. Here's a link though I doubt anyone will want it to his first story.

(Drunk and sarcastic, flesh and blood) Blackjack was one of my favorite fanfic characters... Prime example of writing degradation over time. Though Somber announced he's most likely going to write a sequel.
Speaking of... just looking at FimFiction, counting PH, which isn't listed there, there's 8 MLP fanfics with over a million words. At least 3 more just about to hit a million in a couple chapters. Yes, I did go overboard with the whole... lotsa death thing, but after the first death, and the second one, I was flooded with complaints ABOUT the death being permanent, and as such I had to adapt. PH was a constantly evolving piece, and I had no idea that it would be so hugely met, hence why there are clear endings that get retconned. At the end of the day, it's just a fanfiction that I wrote with some friends editing, that a lot of people read.

Did you really intend to end that arc by getting rid of the characters so quickly and easily? Because it seemed much more your style to revisit characters later.

Its not a recent thing, they stopped being so strict on it when they realised there were going to be basically no females because everyone wanted boys. They still maintain a strict set of rules that they had from the one child policy like cutting benefits for the families etc. Whatever you say about how cruel it was its a hell of a lot better than an unsustainable population and the policy worked. They need to educate people on the dangers of overpopulation because its more deadly than global warming, for the planet.
