The problem with that was that there were suicide bombers mixed in, disguised as hostages, who would detonate on an assault. They tried atomizing a sedative and introducing it to the ventilation system, which...well, that was the end result.

IIRC, the sedative worked fantastically and allowed the FSB to neutralize (kill) the Chechen terrorist; however, the gas was still "classified' and the first responders were not notified of it's use and where not given a neutralizing agent.
A reporter said that after the rescue took place they reported only one death, then two, then 5, 15, 50 and over 100.

I was riddled with debt and had no money left. It had been 3 days since I last ate before I got my first paycheck from my new job and the first thing that I bought was a **** ton of food, and I just sat there eating the largest meal I had had in months and crying.

My colleagues never understood why I wasted so much money on food. Believe me, you'd understand if you lived without it for a while.

I actually can relate to this. Grew up quite poor and was constantly told that we couldn't ever eat out anywhere. Even something like a subway sandwich was an unnecessary luxury.

As soon as I got my first job I wasted so much money trying every local place at once, and I still often eat out. People tell me that it's stupid of me to spend so much on food but I'm loving it right now.

Anon is asked to solve for x: 3x = 9. Anon answers 3. Anon is correct, but Anon is asked for his reasoning. Anon says: "I looked at my watch and it was 3 pm. x=3 confirmed." Anon had the right answer, but the wrong reasoning. Anon was not hailed as a genius, but condemned and an unintelligent individual.

In order for an analogy to be logical, it must hold for all (99.999%) situations, i.e. in scientific terms, it must be a perfect model, or at least a very strong model. The analogy he gave was very weak. If you can easily give a counter example, then his argument is invalid. People have fought eons and eons on end just to create a society where the righteous is not prosecuted for not committing evil deeds. Don't forget that once upon a time, freeing slaves was a crime.

tl;dr Debate wise, having the right answer doesn't count. Reasoning count. You can win a debate for killing all innocent people and puppies in the world with excellent reasoning. doesn't make you right.

Every situation in the world is unique and must be treated as such.

People being gay only affects them personally, therefore prosecuting them makes no sense.
People being killers affects everyone they kill and the murdered ones family, hence prosecution makes sense.

I can easily give a counter argument for pretty much anything in the world, that doesn't mean the argument is good or even makes sense. To disprove something your opposing view has to be accurate and actually fit in the context.

Again, this in argument/debate. Doesn't matter if being gay is worthy of prosecution or not. All that matter is that whether the reasoning is good or bad. You have completely avoided my point and went to something else.

Counter arguments are as important as arguments. For either, if they don't make sense, they are invalid. If you are just going to be biased towards certain arguments just because you agree with the point, not the method, then might as well start burning books. Please, let's keep arguments at their logical procedures, otherwise we are not better than X, Y, and Z.

It doesn't matter if the argument is for whites, or against white; for black or against black; or whatever side in any argument. If the reasoning invalid, then in all fairness, we have to shoot it down.

And in the context of situations that affect noone but themselves, with no outside interference medically, physically or mentally, which is a major piece of the gay vs not gay aspect, the argument works.

Murder does not share those traits.
Bullying does not share those traits.
Self harming does not share those traits.

What shares those traits?

you messed up here, Russian FSB Alpha and Vega groups conducted the raid perfectly, it was the Russian MVD and their refusal to disclose that they had used a toxic gas to render everyone in the theater incapacitated. when Russian medics brought people out, they didn't know about the gas and when they where outside the suffocated. FSB and A and V groups had nothing to do with any one dying.

Well it is pretty hard to beat an habit that's been instilled in you your entire life.
I became a vegetarian fully -or mostly, more on that in a bit- around four months ago. And it isn't that hard, mainly because I don't have a great palate, never ate a lot and overall I'm just not a food kind of guy. Plus I use soy and tofu substitutes of meat when I'm just out of ideas for vegetarian meals. But I've eaten meat twice since then: once in a pizza, once in the form of peking duck. The hope is to stop eating meat forever, but if I don't, I'm happy with only eating it every two or three months. Still way better for my health, and my own personal conscience.

It's really not better for your health though, the trick is moderation, your body is designed to run on meat, depriving it of what it needs is stupid, plain and simple. You need to be on supplements to make up for the stuff you're not getting. If it makes your conscience feel better fine, more power to you, but you gotta take care of yourself, that's priority one.

Its good that you eat healthy foods, specifically vegetables I could never substitute my meat oriented diet for that . All the same, make sure you get enough vitamins and substitutions for the lack of proteins and fats you're body needs, since you don't often or periodically eat meat.
