I think you mean no way is best.
The only time you should aim for the wrists is when someone else is trying to harm you.

Don't mind me, I'm just here to turn the autism up another notch.

This kinda thing always bothered me. All the self harmers I've ever known have done it to relieve stress or feel something or something along those lines, but there seems to be this attitude of "well if you cut yourself you're clearly either trying to kill yourself or attention whoring"
Not that I think Peter is a masochist, obviously he actually is trying to kill himself

I've known a few and from what i understood their brains eventually associate the pain with a release of natural bran chemicals that makes them feel better/whatever. Though yes there are those that just use it for attention. Though some do it because it genuinely makes them feel better sadly.

My father and I did do this and the best way to explain it is that, at least for us, it made us feel capable. It was a pain that we had the control over. It was something we could easily hide. I remember waking up, giving a few slices to my upper left arm, de-infecting it, cleaning it up and throwing a long-sleeved shirt on before going to one of the most productive days ever. To me and dad, it made us feel capable of literally anything, no doubt or lack of control.
