I was first writing this when I saw your post Schnizel, but had to leave the computer for half an hour, I can see now that you've actually said many of the same things. Posting it regardless.

I'm sorry Schnizel, but for once I disagree. England has a long history of two or more cultures occasionally meeting each other in England after having migrated there from other lands.

That being said "multiculturalism is the norm" is a terrible argument. Why?

Because when these cultures met - they clashed violently, and when the invading culture was victorious, it would establish itself as a ruling class over the pre-existing cultures. If the invading culture was not victorious, it would just sod back off to where ever it came from.

From the top of my head, haven't bothered to look it up, but if you want I can find sources:

First came the Romans and made England a part of the Roman Empire.
When the Romans left, in came the Jutes and Danes who forced "Danegeld" upon the local lords.
Then came the Angles from Angeln took over and became the Anglo, a word still used this day to denote England and English people.
Followed by the Saxons, thus Anglo-Saxon became a thing.
Then the Normans came in 1066 and in the Battle of Hastings defeated King Harold and the Normans were established as the ruling class over the Anglo-Saxon.
The Normans were eventually in a situation wherein they had to decide whenever they would return to Normandy and retain their landholdings there, or stay in England. Some stayed while others left.
The next couple of centuries were the Medieval ages, wherein no one was really successful in conquering England, but England was busy conquering each other and generally became the "United Kingdom" when the English conquered Wales, Ireland and the Scottish King James the VI inherited the English throne and became King James the I.

Again, England does have a mutli-cultural history of load of "immigrants" - but is a bloody history written in blood.

That's not exactly true, there are differences between immigration and invasion. and there have been innumerable cases of immigration where they neither ' ****** off' nor slotted themselves in at the top, their descendants can be identified by oddly spelt surnames and nothing else.
The immigrants arrive, the first generation do their best to integrate the second rebel against the first and overact (causing a second group to come, the hardliners) the third group just think of themselves as natives and are folded into the melange.

Just curious - are all ethnic minorities in the UK committing disproportionate amounts of crime?

In the US blacks and hispanics do commit more crime than whites (per capita). But, Asians and jews commit less. And Asians and Jews manage to out earn Whites. I think that's actually pretty amazing given how I keep hearing how racist the US is. Anyway, just wondering if it's the same in the UK?

What about the Romans, the Saxons, Angles, Jutes, the Danes and the French?

All of them at least influenced the English language by quite a bit.
