Actually, many places will give you contracts and not tell you what exactly it is and leave it up to the other party to read it and figure it out. It was their own fault for not reading what they were signing.

While I love the idea, I'm pretty sure there's questionable legality in altering a document another party has already agreed to.
They agreed to send him credit card A. He changed their document to say credit card B. But they never intended to send him credit card B.
I can't forge contracts or documents, and then be in the free-and-clear if I run them through a notary first. It's humorous, and I hope he wins, but I feel like the biggest mistake the bank made was letting this go on for two years before catching on.
