Unless that's a M98B, then the bullet drop from the looks of things wouldn't affect it at all. UNLESS that's a 12x scope, then he gets hit in the chest. UNLESS that's hardcore, making the spot that the bullet will hit not matter since everyone's on 60% health and the M98B does 59-95 damage with the chest multiplier of 1.06. UNLESS he hits him in the leg which is a 0.9 multiplier and that's over 120m of range. Then you're right.

I have too much time on my hands.

He is ~4 mildots high crouching, assuming he is around .9 meters tall crouching and the mildots in the game are correct he should be about 225 meters away, the m98b's damage dropoff stops at 150 meters so it will do 59 damage. Its bullet velocity is about 650m/s so it will take roughly a third of a second to hit, over which time will drop .57 meters hitting center mass. This will do ~64 damage and not kill him unless he is in hardcore. assuming the height estimation was correct

you're assuming the magnification of the scope i the standard 10x to get that distance though, he is using 14x. I'd say he is around 290-320 meters away.
And he probably adjusted the scope for bullet drop considering he most likely used the PLD to find the range.
I do that all the time. But then again I usually use the SRR-61 and aggressively so I rarely have to worry about bullet drop

Wouldn't the magnification not matter since you don't have to use a different equation for mildots at every different magnification?

Although you would be correct if BF4 uses an adjusted 14x scope. So yeah it all depends lol. So yeah you're right

Well its not a matter of a difference in the mildots, its a matter of judging the size of the target because with a larger magnification the target will appear bigger, and thus you will misjudge the distance. The target is around 4 mildots on 14x but on a standard 10x it would be around 3, which in turn will lead to a underestimation of the range.
