Think about it, that's easily the most exciting year at Hogwarts and seeing how everyone reacts to the dire circumstances would be kind of seeing how your old school friends would've reacted to an emergency or something like that.
Also, the ending would be the battle of Hogwarts but with more detail from what the students lived through.
