I know a lot of ex-military people through my fiancee. The **** they have to live with now that they have PTSD is painful to see. Flashbacks, nightmares, regrets, all kinds of things. One of my newer friends can't handle fast movement. When you hand something to him, you have to be slow and make sure he sees you. He's jumpy and, always scared. It's horrible to see. So when a Tumblr **** says they have PTSD because of 'muh triggas' it makes me want to drag them out into the desert, find the tallest cactus out there, and force it all the way up their ass. This wouldn't be so bad if it was an overexaggeration for the lulz (Which I'm assuming is how it started) but people there actually believe this now. They truly believe that a picture on a ******* computer gave them Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This gives me an angry. A very, very big angry.

IMO, the people including any multigendered transsexual LGBTBBQ pink goldfish who claim they've gotten PTSD from this should get actual PTSD, and then we'll talk.

I agree with this comment. I guy I know through a friend was a soldier who served in Afghanistan with the Canadian peace keepers and had just got back from being over seas. The guy was a serious badass and ****, however when he came back he was... something different. I LARP, (that **** in the movie roll models, though in full honesty I go to it because I like hitting fat nerdy kids with foam weapons) and the guy wanted to try it out. We have this rule that your allowed to "tent raid" and attack people when their sleeping. They did it to this guy and I'll never forget the mix of panic, anger, and survial as this guy was woken up and broke the arm of one of these kids when he woke him up. It took him like 4-5 minutes to get out of survial mode and NOT want to kill all these kids. That's PTSD real PTSD. When I even hear people suggest that have that for "someone made fun of me on the internet" I seriously want to head to their house and unload a magazine on their asses and give them the real deal.

It's a result of (or just a mild form of) Munchhausen syndrome. They want to have a mental disorder so people will give them attention/pity and be extra sensitive about their feelings. In short, they want to feel special. They just aren't above belittling the struggle of people with real disorders to do it. And this is where I could talk about the privilege of people who treat mental disorder like it's a status symbol.

Its also a widespread victim complex, if anything is wrong or not how they want it to be, to them its automatically the result of some bully or oppressor. And since its the norm there, there's no one to tell them to stop, and if they do, they are just another oppressor.

The only ever genuinely good text I saw from Tumblr was one that basically said: "Never self diagnose a disorder or problem because you're probably wrong". On Tumblr, they all chat **** about having PTSD from this and **** about having problems, when they really don't know the true problem or how it actually feels. I've been officially diagnosed with Social Anxiety, but they're all like "omg i get soo embarrassed in public" and that's really not it, yet they still sympathise. They are so uneducated on real problems and the real world, and it sickens me to know a new generation will be like that.

I can vouge for this personally. As an addict, I have lots of things that ACTUALLY trigger me. If I hear a bottle of pills rattle, I automatically perk up like an excited puppy. The mere mention of heroin or other opiates sends me into major cravings. These tumblr cunts don't have ptsd, they don't have triggers, and they shouldn't have internet access.

I think this is about how the whole "OMG, ive got ocd XD" thing got started as well.

People with real ocd don't have to do something as small as just making sure everything falls in line like it's supposed to, they have to exhale as their left foot hits the ground, whilst their right hand is ahead of their left when they walk through a doorway, and inhale when their left had gets ahead of their right.
And if they don't get it just right they have to go back outside and try to walk inside again, having the potential to have to do it 4-5 times every time they do it.

I'm actually like this. While I'm walking on sidewalks and such if I step on a crack with one of my feet then I have to step on a crack with my other foot or else I feel unbalanced in a way. And not only that but it has to be in the same spot as the other foot so I can't just barely get it with the toes of one foot and have it in the middle of my other foot. Then I will still feel unbalanced.

While all of us have some minor obsessions, but
OCD is a little more exhausting. It isn't just a slight discomfort. My cousin had this problem that he had to wash his hands for everything. Or else he would get sick and die pretty from some horrible disease. He even was in a documentary about it.

The whole ritual is a slight discomfort. If I don't balance myself I feel horrible. I feel like everything about me is just wrong. I get a feeling of failure and soon after begin to feel depressed. It really does affect me. It's just that it happens very rarely because I'm so aware of it and make sure it doesn't happen.

Well, when it is that bad... We all have that sidewalk-obsession but that sounded really horrible. OCD is basically an obsession that ***** up your everyday-life though. If you feel that that is the case then maybe you have it. But i don't know, i'm no psychiatrist.

I'm going to start replying to things such as this...just in case my words may ring upon the ears of those who need to hear them. (Yes, yes...text upon eyes..whatever.) Autism is not what these ridiculous individuals purport it to be, it is a set challenges and strengths just like anyone else has. Different strengths, different challenges, but still just that. Anyone with some spectrum or another of Autism who can string a coherent thought together and communicate it, has no excuse for being a complete social nor intellectual reject. If they are, it means they have not met the challenges. They have either been mishandled by parental units, schools, etc was in charge of their upbringing OR have just managed to be failures in the face of their challenges. I am angry when I see people regard Autism as being one in the same as those who fail to meet their challenges and live up to their potential. But I am much more angry at those who attempt to excuse their failures with it.
