That's the point, man. If he just jumped in the first place he could have gotten it over with before all the other **** happened. It's saying you should just do what you want to do instead of being afraid and waiting until it's too late.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but in the first panel he's wearing a jacket, shirt, pants, ... and carrying what looks to be a laptop.
So no, he actually wasn't ready. And I'd wait an extra hour too if the pool suddenly filled itself with goddamn alligators.

Dude it's a ******* ender portal.

Don't jump down there without diamond armor at least.

I'd be freaking out in the 2nd panel, I mean the pool just shrunk into a bath tub.

You just need the original, without text. Fairly easy. Not on a comp, so I cant do it.

1. Ok, this one is good
2. It is impossible for someone who never did it (or sheer/heavenly luck)
3. It WILL be, there's no ******* water
4. this one is good
5. this one is too
6. there's alligators...ALLIGATORS
7. this good
8. there's a freaking Tsunami in the pool, of course the conditions aren't good
9. Finally.

Moral of the story: don't make excuses
Comic made poorly: most of the excuses were actually real things
Should've been: the first panels repeated showing that there is NOTHING in the pool but we keep make excuses
User avatar #10 to #3 - therealtjthemedic (07/04/2014) [-]
4 is not good. You'd ******* kills someone/yourself.
5, you don't know the conditions

1. NOT good! You see all those worm, squiggly ******* !? **** that ****
2. Of course he can't! Why the **** would you take a bath with trunks on.
3. Nah, man... the water will be there is a second.... Give it a second.... hold on....
4. THERE it is! See?! Look at all these nice people, bringing water to swim in.
5. It's only good for you cause YOU TOOK HIS DAMN TELESCOPE! Asshole...
6. I'd be more worried about the alligator climbing up....
7. It's not good.... You're supposed to push him in on the raft, you dick.
8. NEVER get in right after a fat chick. It's just not a good idea.
9. He was waiting for the bitch to get out of the pool, of course...

>jump into a pool filled to the brim with people, no, likely to injure people
>jump when you're so high you can't even see the pool, no, you will definitely die

Other than that I agree.

User avatar #15 to #14 - Sterski ONLINE (07/04/2014) [-]
Yeah but they were used poorly. The comic is saying make the leap and don't make excuses. But the metaphor presents the excuses as pretty much valid.
User avatar #17 to #15 - akkere ONLINE (07/04/2014) [-]
The metaphor is how he perceives the pool, not how the pool actually is.
It's absurd for there to just be a ladder and dive board that goes straight to a bath tub, or a pool was left so poorly unattended that Alligators managed to infest it, so you're left to imply that it's merely just a metaphorical presentation of him conjuring his fears, not actually seeing them, until he finally comes to reality and see the pool for what it is, only by now it's night time and too late.
User avatar #40 to #17 - Sterski ONLINE (07/05/2014) [-]
Metaphors don't tend to be realistic, that's why they're metaphors. There's no reason to think the dangers the guy is commenting on aren't real within the context of the metaphor.
User avatar #43 to #40 - akkere ONLINE (07/05/2014) [-]
There's plenty reason to think the dangers within the character is pure imagination, because it's the very basis of the comic. The comic isn't expressing a character staring down at a pool of a hundred dangers - he's staring at a pool that he's constantly drawing excuses and allowing his paranoia imagine and shift rather than looking at it for what it is.
User avatar #44 to #43 - Sterski ONLINE (07/05/2014) [-]
But there's nothing there to indicate that 'what it is' is any different from what we're seeing.

It's never too late, a Wizard comes just when he needs to
User avatar #5 to #3 - forbesydemon (07/04/2014) [-]
Anon had it right. It's that we make a false excuse for the first time, then things change and we're given real reasons not to do it and it's too late by the time we get the same chance.
User avatar #9 to #3 - mephiblis (07/04/2014) [-]
How are 4 & 5 good? Jump in 4, you land on a kids head, killing it and probably yourself due to neck/spine injury. Jump in 5, you slam in the water at god know what speeds with god knows what force IF you hit the fkin water.

4th he would have gomba stomped the **** out of someone
#4 to #3 - anon (07/04/2014) [-]
I think the point was that if you tell yourself that you are not ready and don't do what you want to, then conditions may change, you should do it in the first instance
