I hate how in todays world it's impossible to be proud of your white heritage without being called a racist kkk member or skin head. I am white and I am ******* proud of it. It's not fair. Black kid: BLACK POWER! Latino kid: LATIN PRIDE! White kid: WHITE POWER! Everyone: RACIST ASS CRACKER! I am proud of my history and what we accomplished. I did not do those horrible things to people so stop ******* blaming me for them. Black people act like they were the only people who were enslaved. More than a million Europeans were enslaved by North Africans between 1530 and 1780. So for now on i'm going to personally blame every single black person I see for what their ancestors did to my ancestors 200 years ago... oh wait... that's ******* stupid... white people took over almost the entire planet and i'm damn proud of that. I don't have to ******* check my "white privileges" every time I leave my god damn house, shut the **** up.

You're refuse to take the blame or feel guilty for how white people treated others, but you wanna take pride and joy in them almost completely taking over the world? Killing natives, raping their women and forcing their religion on everyone, thats something to be proud about? I'm not saying be ashamed I just don't think it's something to boast about. Especially since, as you put it, it had nothing to do with you.

Should black people be ashamed of the fact that their ancestors raped and murdered too? Should all Japanese people feel bad about the Rape of Nanking? And almost completely taking over the world is definitely something to be proud of, but successfully taking over the world would be a greater accomplishment.

this is why I try my best in school and always control my temper, I have to prove these racist assholes wrong. My boyfriend is white and people always act so surprised when I mention this. Some of his friends make racist jokes but I doubt they mean any real harm.

I feel like black men and white women interracial couples get a little more criticism because they feel like the girl is a slut and the boyfriend only wants her cause she's white.

And I don't like it when people try and tell me racism is gone, because I've had plenty of guy friends say " you're pretty for a black girl or I'd date you but I don't date black girls" ect ect.

My friend I'm not sure if you realize this but there are festivals such as Italian, Greek, and German festivals that allow you to be proud of your culture than are in major cities. I have seen people say theyre proud of their heritage and not be deemed racist about it. The whole reason "white pride" itself is seen as bad is because who else says it besides skinheads? Honestly if you want to start bitching about not being able to say "white pride" you should be going to stormfront instead and bitch to them for causing a bad name for the word. If you know what you're heritage is and say "i'm a proud swede, irishman, scot" or whatever no one will have anything against you.

Why are you proud of something that you had no involvement in? I can understand why you'd be proud of an accomplishment you yourself had partaken in, but being proud because you share specific traits with some people in the past that did something... it baffles me.

Or is it because you have nothing to be proud of that you've done yourself, so you extract your self-esteem from other people?

“Pride should be reserved for something you achieve or obtain on your own, not something that happens by accident of birth. Being Irish isn't a skill... it's a ******* genetic accident. You wouldn't say I'm proud to be 5'11"; I'm proud to have a pre-disposition for colon cancer.”

- George Carlin

Seriously, being proud of something you had nothing to do with, e.g. race or nationality does nothing to better the world we live in. This is one of the things governments exploit to unite the people against a common enemy, and only generates hatred towards others.

It is illogical to have pride in anything you accomplish because you exist for reasons beyond your control and accomplished those things only because others came before you and opened the path or helped you along the path to your accomplishment. Every doctor depends solely on his professors teachings every engineer can attribute his success to the professors of the engineering program who taught him the tools necessary to accomplish his job. Even Einstein and Newton would have been nothing if not for the hundreds of predecessors and thousands of years of knowledge they inherited through which they were able to meld previous knowledge together into a new understanding. We can take credit for nothing in life because everything we do depends on someone else's previous work.

Ah. Another liberal pseudo-Marxist socialist nonsense-monger, eh?

Belonging to a race and demonstrating the worthy and even noteworthy attributes of that race is worthy of pride. The hospitality of the Irish and the Scots, for example.

Belonging to a race that plays its part in the world and taking its role and responsibility to its poorer neighbours seriously, reached by dint of electing leaders which represent your values, is worthy of pride. The fervour of the Americans or the charity of the Swiss, for example.

Two Prime grounds why one may take pride in their race and should be ever-vigilant to uphold such in the face of challenge and all the risk that comes with it.

Patriotism insures citizens keep an eye on their leaders.

To think otherwise is to cast yourself adrift on a sea of irresponsibility and look after only your own ass for altruistic motives.

Total.
Crock.

They are indeed. But we clearly are working from different understanding of what race means. While you might change your passport, how does that change your make-up? Not at all and first and how much further afterwards?

As ol' Freud put it, the super-ego is defined and set by your background and upbringing and ultimately what makes us who we are. Your skin colour is as much as part of that as anything else, there is no reason not to take pride in every part of who and what you are.

It was not suggested in the OP that aggrandizement was the next step.

"Asian" is a catchall term, an no actual asian (as in someone born and raised in Asia, no in the US or whatever) would identify as such. Born Asians identify as Chinese or Korean or Vietnamese and aren't too happy when you call them by the wrong one. Ive learned this from experience.

tldr: You a lyin' cunt.

were is short for we are, all he did was miss an apostrophe.. plus he is right, asians really are beginning to rule, and all your thumbs down just show how mad you are.

That'd be correct. I have no qualms with the guy, I just got a slight chuckle out of the experience. It's pretty childish that he'd get so offended over it. I understand he's learning English; I merely wished to poke fun.

sorry, english is my 4th language, and I dont particularly care for all the stupid idiosyncrasies that come with this awful language. How many languages do you speak?

You can spell idiosyncrasies right but you can't be bothered to put a necessary apostrophe in a contraction? Don't like it, then just say "we are" and stop being a stupid bitch.
