That is pretty interesting. I always did kind of wonder how an engineer would actually get to the top of a tower they're working on. Now I see it' just as simple as climbing up yourself.
Onto another subject, I just totally **** my pants.
Is anyone else scared of heights like me but would still totally jump off the edge of a cliff if I knew I had a parachute or otherwise safe gear? I want to go skydiving at some point in fact. I suppose it might be practice from going off the high dive at the pool when I was little that I've just learned to get over my fear of heights.

Structural engineering is a form of civil engineering. Not sure what's up with that definition, but civil engineering is basically any construction that isn't for military purposes. So yeah, roads, bridges, dams, et cetera, but also houses, sky scrapers, and other buildings.
