i know this is a little off topic, but i feel that sometimes metal heads make newer metal out to be **** and only stick to metallica, iron maiden, slayer etc. but i feel that bands like five finger death punch, disturbed, in flames, etc are doing a great job of living up to the timeline of metal that has been set before them

Everybody SHUT UP!
I have an erection
If Justice is blind, she's gonna miss this display
It's hard as steel but still evaded metal detection
This is more important than what you have to say!
Judge, don't give me that robe, 'cause then nobody could see
This pillar of awesome that's sticking straight out of me
Who could argue a case with so much dick in your face?
Please hold your applause

Simple opinion here, but metal fans are annoying as **** , and I will explain why. These are generalizations, keep in mind. But I see it constantly with metal fans.

One. They constantly bitch at each other about what kind of metal is real metal and how everything else is **** . Nobody cares if it's metal core, neo butt-metal, dildo shanking horror metal, death metal, or any of the thousands of variations you seem to have created simply for the sake of saying that' your metal is different than their metal. Honestly, you sound more like hipsters than anything.

Two, most of them act like pretentious douches, and think that people are scared of them, or judging them, especially the ones that dress all black, wearing chains and generally just wearing clothes that are "against the norm". They act high and mighty most of the time, acting better than everyone because they think they're hardcore for "going against society".

Three, most of them are militantly aggressive towards other genres of music, and it is by far the most annoying ******* thing ever. I can't count how many times I've seen metal fans bitching on forums or youtube comments talking about how everyone listening to anything other than metal is just a conformist, and should listen to "real" music.

I don't see why it's necessary to bitch about other people's choice in music, I listen to pretty much anything, including some metal now and then. I like rap, hip hop, rock, classic vinyl, dubstep, punk, a little country, and just about anything else. If it's actually good, I'll listen to it.

pic related, but not really.
<this is an example of **** I hate. "musicians" with no talent.

Metal fans are just emo kids who pretend to be hard.

1. To be fair, if you look enough into any genre, you'll have the "neo-classical blues influenced jazz", "psychedelic blaze trance", "underground hardcore oi punk". People just love being too anal about genres. The metal community gets a bad rap for no reason.

2/3. They're mostly kids who do that. Most older metalheads, from what I've seen have taken their heads out of their hole. (But there are still the annoying "fear me, for I am kvlt" people). Go to any classical or jazz music forum and you see the pretentiousness ooze from your screen. Try telling a Jazz fan that jazz isn't the best genre ever and there's a high chance they'll go primate on you and throw verbal **** at your.

Sorry but James Hetfield hasn't been metal since the late 80s/early 90s. Sellout like the rest of Metallica.

I actually liked that, so thanks for the link

Is the reason you no longer listen to Metallica because someone made this version of Enter Sandman or because you think they made it. Because the description says the uploader made the version, and apparently he wants a beer.
#30 to #18 - jboienggh ONLINE (01/24/2014) [-]
It's not bad as a song but it's barely even recognisable as Enter Sandman. Rip off the Vocals and the video and it's an entirely different song. I'm all for creative rearrangements but this seems to have lost too much of the original.
User avatar #31 to #30 - xaril (01/24/2014) [-]
Yeah, I agree with you on that. Though I won't stop listening to Metallica cause of a song someone else tried to make a cover of.

You may think they weren't good since late 80s/early 90s, but they're still a metal band. Your personal opinion on a band doesn't affect its genre.

Ask any big Thrash band (except Megadeth) who their biggest thrash influence was. It will almost always be Metallica.

Megadeth blows them out of the water. I wouldn't want to see them right now though because their new album is worse than Risk.

in my opinion metallicas best albums were
1. st anger
2. and justice for all
3. death magnetic

all the other albums (apart from kill em all) just sound like they copied concepts slayer had already been doing for years. the 3 i listed are very unique and offer something awesome, musically speaking. i believe everyone who listened to thrash metal as it formed would share similar opinion with me and they also think metallica is the worst out of the "big 4". venom/voivod master race
User avatar #9 to #5 - theezachulator (01/24/2014) [-]
and justice for all and kill em all are about the only good ones oh and ride the lightning just for the Call of khathulu but there is no vocals on that song

I liked Load and Reload.

What albums are you saying sounds like what Slayer had been doing? Both bands formed around the same time and dropped their first albums pretty close to each other.

Can't really agree, saying that Metallica plays similar to Slayer is ridicolous or however this word is written.
And I dont get how one can like St. Anger.

Thumbed up anyway for your bravery to share an opinion online
User avatar #83 to #5 - thebestpieever (01/24/2014) [-]
Dude... Every single metallica album dropped before Slayer's Reign in Blood and Kill 'Em All dropped before Show No Mercy. What did they steal? Haunting the chapel? Metallica never did anything similar to that and Show No Mercy was going an a way darker path than Ride The Lightning and Master of Puppets.
User avatar #85 to #83 - thebestpieever (01/24/2014) [-]
Every single one of Metallica's first three albums*
User avatar #6 to #5 - gunslayer (01/24/2014) [-]
St. Anger? Lol.

I'm not a huge fan of Metallica but IMO Death Magnetic was the sickest album they ever dropped, I ******* love it.

i find they managed to balance out every end of extreme on st anger and thats why i like it the most
