Have you noticed that in 9/10 disney films, Gaston would actually be the hero?

I mean, look at him, he's strong, handsome, courageous, he is the only person in the whole town he tries to talk to Belle, even if his intentions are not so noble, he makes an effort to talk to her, while the rest of the town talks behind her back and calls her strange.

The beat kidnapped Belle's father and took him captive, and then later took Belle captive, to an outsider, that would look more than a little bit strange, so Gaston actually tries to save her, by attempting to kill the beast.

In my opinion, if it was any other disney film except this one, Gaston would be the hero who saves the princess, he just happened to be the right person in the wrong place, but unfortunately for him it didn't make a difference this time.

Except it was Gaston's actions that lead to Belle's father being beaten and taken captive as leverage to force her into marrying him.
