In my original post I said I hoped for a new technique to become available. Then you replied in a way that gave me the impression you were thinking that I thought this technique should replace current day gender reassignment surgery, when I did not say so.
So I made a comment where you start out with one thing, in this case batter, which you can only use in one way, making pancakes, then a new option appears, making waffles, and I ask if this new option would suddenly be the only option left.

Not the best of metaphores, but give me a break, it's 5 AM.

Anyway, back on topic, transgenders have brains that don't resemble their birth sex, so for transwomen their brain is partially or fully feminized. You're advocating that you physically change how they think to mirror that of the sex they were born with by rewriting pretty much everything about them. I think most would rather kill themselves than see that fate. I think a brain is more important about who you are than anything else.

Characteristics of transgender brains typically resemble their gender identity. As a guy, a real transgender is going to be more effeminate, emotional, prefer girl toys to boy toys, and he's not going to fit in with a group of guys. He's going to get frustrated when his friends don't want to listen to him talk about his feelings or his hair. Men and women think differently. If that isn't the case, how come there are so many jokes about guys being totally confused by girls? If you fix their mind, you are effectively saying you want to make them think like men.

Now, there is a sub-category of transgenders who are actually fetishistic and are really transitioning for sexual reasons around becoming a women. Those tend to be sexual cross-dressers too. That one might better be cured that way, I'll admit, but it should still be voluntary.

Also less than you think has to do with being comfortable with your body. Many transwomen transition, knowing they will always stand out and look like men in dresses. They transition because of the hormones and their balancing effect on their female minds.

Getting on the hormones as a transgender puts your mind at ease. You don't feel out of place, your mind can properly express its emotions, and overall, it improves your happiness. They don't care about whether they are attractive, they need estrogen so their brains function how they are designed to function.

Finally, a transgender who transitions in puberty, or even their early 20s is going to look comparable to a cis woman, especially with more androgynous features to begin with. Moreover, a transgender woman has soft skin like a girl, can lactate like a girl, thinks like a girl, and even orgasms like a girl. The only difference between them is the lack of an ovary and vagina. O, and by the way, XXY is an intersex condition that is often a cause of transgenderism (and it affects 1/1000 males). One of my friends was XXY and had some internal female organs, but otherwise looked like any other male. She's now transitioned and frankly, she was never male to begin with even by chromosomes, though you would have lumped her in as one until she started hormones.

Dude, the apa researched it for a good long while and years ago, before sjw's become prominent, it was declared not to be a mental illness. It even says, "it is important to note that gender non-congruence is not in itself a disorder" in the most recent update of the dsm. A state of dysphoria/depression due to being trans is an illness, but being trans is not, and not all trans people have gender dysphoria, it's actually a much smaller percentage than most assume. And a person with dysphoria will actually be advised against hormones/surgery by their doctors until it has been resolved to try to ensure mentally unstable people aren't making these decisions

Transgender is different. Sex and gender are different according to transgenders. Transgenders are not transsexuals. Transgenders are not LGBT. Being and identifying are two different things. Being is scientifically and still politically correct. Identifying has to do with self-acceptance, not the need for acceptance from others, and has nothing to do with scientific evidence. And no, before you say it, topic specific university classes are not scientifically backed by national science policies either. Anyone can back whatever bandwagon they want without being close minded about it, all the transgender phenomenon is is a movement of hormonally based feelings who inwardly do not accept the gender they were assigned biologically. There is no political correctness to be had. Not now, and not in the next few decades if there is any such thing as a god.

I have no problem calling Mr. Jenner by the name Caitlyn. If he wanted to spend money mutilating his penis, while I don't agree with his decision it was his to make. Honestly I find the idea of a "transgender" to be kind of sexist.
If it's alright for a man to be gay and if it's alright for a man to dress in drag and if is alright for a man to act in a way that's normally attributed to women, why do they need to refer to themselves as a transsexual. Also does doing one or more of these things make a man any less of a man? While a feminine man might not fit the macho man schema, he is still a man.

I can't argue with that, but is it really a big deal? It's a small change from using one name/pronoun to another name/pronoun. Those hormone "surges" the fetus gets during pregnancy are not easy to tamper with: they directly affect brain growth, a quick search of causes o transsexualism give you a lot of info. Nowadays it is a bit easier to change the body rather than change the brain, which might even prove unethical. (A way to "fix" the transsexual brain is lobothomia. Not exactly wise or nice thing to do.)

I can't speak for all of FJ, but I don't hate "Caitlyn" Jenner, I just don't give a **** or find her attractive.

As far as its concerned though it is a hormonal and chemical thing that can give you dispositions towards male and female tendencies. The reason transgender is such a weird concept in the modern world is because we only have two genders which normally directly correlate with our sex. In few other cultures there is more than one gender to identify with to more properly place people based on how they feel. Even native americans had a place for men and women who felt more inclined to one side or another.

The INAH3 part of the brain studied by Simon LeVay revolved around sexual orientation, not gender identification. And it didn't prove anything genetic or biological either. He himself has stated that people assume too much of what he discovered. The entirety of the size of the nucleus of that section of the brain is still effected by chemical reactions throughout multiple psychological aspects. You simply cannot compare homosexuality and transgenderism, it's not in any way related. And this is coming from a man who he himself was gay.

Depends on the definition being used, an ambush can a be a type of trap in the more general sense, that it is an unexpected and violent thing, but more specifically traps are mechanical things meant to capture maim or kill just one or a few, while ambushes involved (usually armed) people attacking another person from within concealment and has no upper limit on its size, armies can ambush one another.
