Poor addy, he was only trying to give it a new look to the site.
Too bad people sometimes dislike the change, probably now he will have to make a poll everytime he want to change something.
Admin do care about what users want, that's why admin make silly polls about what the name should be for unregistered users and why the icon went back to the old triangle, the problem is that website interfaces are things that are done by how the owner of the website thinks it will work or look better, and addy overlook the fact this ''litttle harmless'' change might annoy some users.
Yeah, but since he really care, probably now he will be extra careful about doing anything to the website, which could be good or bad, we will have to see.
I don't like the idea of having a bell, and it was way too sudden. The gray thing was also mixed into it too, though. If he had just slid the bell in there, alone, then people may have reacted better to it. I would not have, since I don't like the bell or that it turned green. But the gray thing tied into the bell's response and they ended up going away together.
I'm okay with that, though, because it wasn't an improvement to anything. Just a graphic change that didn't really... do anything. Just made it look worse, at least to me.
It's probably because you were more used to see the triangle than the bell, if it would have stayed like that for a month, by the end of it you would probably have said that it no longers annoy you like it did or that you just don't care anymore, at least that's what i think.
also what's that ''gray thing''?
I can say that I've been to a site with a bell for an 'alert' thing and it still bothers me. Not quite as much as it did on Funnyjunk because I had always seen the bell, but I still didn't like it. It wasn't green, though, but... I dunno. A bell doesn't really suit this site.
The "gray thing" was all the text and stuff being gray. Like almost every text thing was some shade of gray, even in the same alert system with the bell. The purple text that shows usernames, comment number, and content name in the 'alert' box was all gray. That kind of cut into the bell's influence.
