The Greeks did have to handle a lot of **** from the Muslims back in the day (The Persians Wars, the first one being as early as 492 BC 300 may be mostly fantasy, but it was based on a real war (Battle of Thermopylae) )...

anon (01/11/2016) [-] The ancient Persians were NOT Muslims, they were Zoroastrians which is actually the precursor religion of the Monotheists; Christianity, Judaism and Islam. And I should mention, in that situation the metaphor for today is kinda ruined since it's Greece who are the xenophobic, sexist, racist ones and the Persians are the diverse, religiously free ones. Oh, and Zoroastrianism forbids slavery, as does Islam, something Christianity never picked up on...

2) My point was that west and east have been fighting each other since very long ago. Who was the racist asshole is irrelevant in what I wanted to say.
3) Ok. Maybe the Greeks didn't have the best standards, and maybe the Persians had better ways. I can't tell. History is not my field. But it was still them invading the Greeks, wasn't it? hence why I said "The Greeks did have to handle a lot of **** from the Muslims" Zoroastrians, again, thank you . Regardless of who had the better ways in culture, being the invading force has never been seen as the "good guys" move.
