While I agree that they were entirely capable of teaching and behaving like civilized people I do also remember accounts of when they would rape, plunder, and pillage white settlements after the initial "Hey we're new people here" stage. After the natives found that we would not be leaving, or they got offended over how much space we were taking up they started killing white folks in droves. Which lead to the native wars that we heard about and are blamed for all the time.

Were there innocent tribes that got caught in the crossfire? Almost certainly. Where there horrible people in the tribes we were at war with? Definitely. I'm not saying every native man woman and child was evil. I'm just saying that they went about attacking a clearly more powerful force completely wrong. "Hey, bent spear."

"I don't really like these white folks coming in here and cutting down our trees n **** . They even use some crazy magic stik to kill animals from hundreds of feet away"
