a ts non: for naal still In wanna add Gary or man
an think that , .
I' m not going to report the original post
as I am not sure about its origins and whether or
not OP saw this, but this kind of stuff isnt .
Artists work long and hard on these pieces which
bring nostalgia junkies like us so much happy-
ness, so they at least deserve proper recognition
for their work, if their rules are not complied
with. This guy' s got lots more great stuff in his
gallery and if you want so it it all (thornberries,
hey arnold, rocket power, ect.) check out the link
in the description!

The fact that this got 26 thumbs makes me sad. Maybe you think you're being ******* edgy or some ****, but this artist worked hard on his art. He took the time to hone his skills and get them to a level far beyond anything you could probably create. So spreading his art around without crediting him is a dick move.

Super simple stuff, dickweed.

It's not exactly about wether you can do it or not, but instead showing some goddamn respect for artists who put their heart and soul into artwork like that, arseface. As an upgrowing artist, people like you disgust me more than obese people at a walmart.

You sound like one of those Hollywood actors, who believe they'll go bankrupt if people "steal" their stuff on the interwebz.

It is 100% sure that the viralness of HIS artwork, though on other sites, has given HIM more popularity than his own ****** site ever would, both in the long run and short one.

Don't get me wrong. sharing artwork on other websites is the coolest thing, that could happen to an artist. What I'm talking about is **** like: claiming that the artwork belongs to someone else, making up stupid background stories just like in this post or just cropping out the name of the artist. Stuff like that harms the image of the original artist. Someone who put endless hours of love and passion into a single piece. Now think about how that person would feel, if he/she saw it on another website, where some asshat just needs to spend two minutes to crop the name out and claim the rights on it.

I feel like taking a big dump on this so-called "artwork", when I hear **** like "Now think about how that person would feel, if he/she saw it on another website". It's a ******* drawing that the person posted on the internet. If the person wanted exclusive rights to their drawing, which is all it is, then they should have kept it in the ******* drawer.

"(...)making up stupid background stories just like in this post" I don't understand what you mean, when you say "just like in this post".

"17 U.S.C. § 107

Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 17 U.S.C. § 106 and 17 U.S.C. § 106A, the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phonorecords or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright. In determining whether the use made of a work in any particular case is a fair use the factors to be considered shall include:
the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes;
the nature of the copyrighted work;
the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; and
the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work.
The fact that a work is unpublished shall not itself bar a finding of fair use if such finding is made upon consideration of all the above factors."

Profit is not directly gathered from the posts made on this site. It is instead made on the advertisements and sales generated by the people who visit the site to see the posts made on the site. Because of this everything on this site falls under fair use.
The news works in exactly the same way.

TL;DR Fair use means that "Stop you're not allowed to use this" icon doesn't mean anything.

IF artist, does not want their work to be taken without their approval, then Its not ok to take it.
If a woman, does not want to have sex without her approval, then its not ok to have it...

No man.

I never will understand the need for credit. If you have made something, and I see someone else posting it I'd be damn happy that people are enjoying my work to the point where they save and post it elsewhere. If they say I MADE THIS CHECK IT, I can understand... but other than that, why the **** do you need your dick sucked and a thousand angels e-penis' shoved down your throat to feed your egotistical nature.

Well, you see, most people don't create things to make the world a better place. Quite a few people create things to gain recognition. Especially when there's no money involved, the only payment is recognition, and that is completely removed when it's posted without credit.

I've gotten a story published in a short story journal, and I would be pissed as hell if someone copied it verbatim and posted it randomly online without giving credit because ninety percent of the reason I submitted it in the first place was to gain recognition and fame with the endgame being to get an agent and publish full length novels.

You realize that you are absolutely wrong about everything in your post right?

1. Tiarajade, the original poster, did in fact give credit in all three of her posts.

2. The "You are not authorized to use this artwork" applies to anything profit based. Posting the artwork on an image board does not count as breaching terms of use.

If you want to bring it to the artists attention then go for it. If he actually does have an issue with it he can bring it up to the mods, who will happily remove it for him, but otherwise there's nothing that can be done about it.

The difference: When you see Spongebob, you think Nickelodeon. When you see Mickey, you think Disney. When you see these pictures, you don't think who the artist is, because you don't know.

but credit was given. and to my knowledge, the artist only makes money off of prints. it's essentially free promotion.

but if the artist or really any artist dislikes the way his work is used on funnyjunk, then the ARTIST can bring the grievance to one of us mods.

random art review: his art is great but boringly similar with very little experimentation in style. Which is a shame, as i bet he could do well in other mediums. His work reeks of hipster culture, however this doesn't surprise me as deviantart has a lot of them and prints are available for sale...

Expecting art to be a suitable means for yourself or a family to be financially stable in this age is like expecting hell to freeze over. Enjoy your hobby. I have nothing against that. But expect it to get ripped off. Unless you actually paint and make single pictures that cannot just be duplicated via the internet/computers.

I'm not taking sides on this or anything, but I find it a bit comedic how people flip out over not giving credit to an artist or something like that, yet quite a few people on here, if not most of the people on here, torrent movies and such and see no problem with it. That's the internet for you I guess.

There is a difference between being asked to credit the artist and asking for money from anyonewho want´s to see it.
There is no damage in putting the source in the desc.
