250, 000 bouncy balls dsen San Francisca streets.
The Chaos.
I want ts mew hsw much damage this cast
Mate I ism this advert so much; seeing it as a kid like inspired my aesthetic for
things and flying. But really, knowing about it is awesome. his CGI, PM
animation, just 250, 000 bouncy balls being shot frsm a cannon dawh a hill at
The camera crew needed body angst and they let everyone
afterwards just pick up all the balls they could carry and take them (focal kids
who came out ts watch were actively given all the bouncy halls they wanted).
But just going frsm here, they forked taut a lithe for cars that were hit (to st
shot, all the cars ysu see are paps) and it houses were damaged, although
they reimbursed whatever they huske. The pnly lasting effect were the balls
themselves, with mar lost to the city fsr people ts find.

For anyone wondering the two dead were people lost at sea or something. Who were found later to have drowned because the balloons being released interfered with their search for them. Or something like that If i remember correctly.

It was from I believe a video by kitty0706 called Mass Defect. It appears to have been since taken down.

Here's his YouTube: www.youtube.com/user/kitty0706/videos

Did a quick search, someone dropped a re-up. It's not watchable in the U.S. due to copyright claims. Have this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hu8EJ36MBw

I remember being at the cinema and seeing this advert as a kid. Its an amazing simplistic display of colour and I'm astounded at the brilliance of the minds that thought it up.

Stress testing rl's physics engine?

**ashampoo used "*roll picture*"**
**ashampoo rolled image**rl's physics engine is stress testing itself all the time. imagine the computing time for all the stars, and their gravity correlations n stuff. this isnt even barely the tip of the iceberg

Our friendly hair care product's right, you know. Even just on earth, all the plate tectonics and nuclear physics going on are far beyond simple bouncy balls, let alone the crazy **** going on in the rest of the universe. Galactic cores, black holes colliding, supernovae, neutron stars, the list is endless.

I would love to see lines mapping the path each ball took.
User avatar #10 to #8 - Maadmann (11/09/2015) [-]
That would be beautiful to see in a higher-powered Vernier-type software. The rendering would be awesome in a 3D space.
User avatar #93 to #10 - albeit (11/09/2015) [-]
Especially if you could use Google Maps/Earth with street view to get a real world, 3D view.

If it wasn't CG, but it was.
#53 to #49 - majordraco (11/09/2015) [-]
I thought I read it was CGI, but I just looked it up again and found this, so I guess it's real.
User avatar #18 to #4 - brokentrucker ONLINE (11/09/2015) [-]
Pollute in what manner?

Most bouncy balls tend to biodegrade rather rapidly (when compared to a lot of the other **** we dump places), so, unless they're made out of something toxic (which they probably won't be, because kids, lol), I doubt they'd do much harm.
#37 to #4 - anon (11/09/2015) [-]
idk but those bouncy balls looked like the cheap kind that have a kind of rough outer texture thats easier to grip and has more friction.

i much prefer the nicer bouncy's that have a smooth glossy finish on the outside
.

User avatar #84 to #26 - mattyjay (11/09/2015) [-]
whats a recapture rate?
User avatar #96 to #84 - thirdjess ONLINE (11/10/2015) [-]
Return on investment

Say for example I bought some shares, and intended to keep them for ten years. The shares cost me $5000. You break the life of your investment into a percentage (1/10 = 0.1 x 100 = 10%) and put it over the cost. So in this example, the recapture rate would be 10/5000 or 1/500, meaning my stocks would need to earn me $500 a year to be financially viable.

Yeah I bet those people wanted to deal with the damages, even if they were paid they still have to fix it, or get someone else to fix it.

#50 to #35 - sytheris (11/09/2015) [-]
I have a sneaking suspicion that they needed the people's permissions to film there.
User avatar #51 to #50 - iexs (11/09/2015) [-]
I think they just need permission from the city.

Normally when people pay for the damages, they pay for someone to fix it.
User avatar #70 to #35 - donatelo (11/09/2015) [-]
to be honest...they probably did. they more than likely needed permission from the residents to shoot there...AND, the residents know prior to living there (or have learned) that that is a famous street in San Fransisco and a lot of shenanigans go down there.
