I wonder how he would actually do that
Since a mirror doesn't reflect 100% of the light the mirror would probably get damaged

I assume he can control the intensity of the laser.

Or it's just a really good mirror.

Considering the way scissors break from attempting to cut his hair I think we can come to the conclusion that this doesn't make any sense.

In the comics (pre-reboot, at least), he uses a scrap of metal from the ship he was brought to Earth with. It completely reflects his heat vision.

(I am not so sure where the piece was from, but the rest is true. Source is... I don't quite remember, I think it is Superman: the Man of Steel. But it damn sure was written and drawn by John Byrne).

im more impressed by that mirror

superman has tanked several supernovas to the face and his hair has been just fine by it.yet shooting that heat vision in hot enough temperature to harm his beard somehow doesnt make the mirror melt...

I've grown up with those superheroes and digestive end product so why would I start questioning it now

You know, beards will grow regardless of which universe the heroes are in, right?

Their respective universes has nothing to do with shaving, man. Come on now.

I've always wondered about this. If wolverine loses some hair from any kind of damage, it always grows back to its original length. Except when he shaves or cuts it on purpose.
Why is that?

Because to some degree, all superpowers generally have an understanding of their users' desires. Like, when you summon a fireball in you're hand, it knows not to burn you. His hair knows what length is 'normal' for him.

And yes, I realize this is not always the case, and their are powers with hideous drawbacks that are hard to control, but for the sake of narrative simplicity most writers do this.

Ah, yes... this reminds me of the Star Wars PnP I've been playing.
We started as young Jedis. One evening our DM said we're getting to an age where we're starting to grow a beard.
...plucking out all the hair at once with the force was a BAD idea.

As I said, we were young. Also, playing about 40 years after Episode VI, so the Jedi Order was a bit cooler with stuff like that.
