i dont think 3 seconds is that hard, really. but it is kind of awkward to stand there for 3 seconds smiling to what seems like a black lump with a lens poking out the front.

you had to be perfectly still for those 3 seconds. just moving a centimeter would make your face blurry and distorted in the picture.

OP's bottom pictures would have happened within the span of only a few seconds, and are, for the most part, correctly exposed. So yes, these are in three or less seconds. During Victorian era photography, the time for exposure was dramatically decreased from minutes to seconds.
