I personally love the age we're in with movies. Action moves are so over the top awesome now days, I love it.

I don't really like it. Where did the depth go? It's like all these movies is just a CGI fest.

And what makes CGI inherently bad? You can't appreciate fantastic scenes of epic proportions? An define depth. The story in action movies are just as good as they've ever been.

Nothing is bad with CGI, but when they sacrifice everything else for it, it's bad. For example Fight Club had really groundbreaking CGI for its time. But that didn't mean it was a Michael Bay directed mindless action movie.

You make it sound as if most movies are mindless. Personally, I liked the Transformer movies and LOVED Pacific Rim - as an example of the most sacrificed in relation to story. Really if they just didn't have a greasy female love interest in every goddamn movie, that would've made the Transformer movies 100% better; and Pacific Rim had giant robots fighting giant aliens, it wasn't supposed to have a good story. And it was awesome without it. In fact, I think it needed more fights and slightly less story.
