If you click and drag the download button and a link appears it is the right one

...No, that's not true. That's misinformation from an old fact comp. Just mouse-over them and read the URL at the bottom, it's easy to tell which one is yours and far more reliable that way.

Really? I always thought if you could click+drag the download button, that was the real one; since an ad wouldn't drag.

i'd be the opposite, since ads are usually in the form of gifs and jpegs,

the real download would not drag.

Images drag, links do not (they will usually show the URL on most browsers when you drag them.) If the website uses an image as its download button, then dragging it won't work--your browser makes no difference.

Fun fact: You can type whatever you want for the straight word, and it'll accept it as long as you get the distorted word correct.

I read once that google based ones use the straight word to understand words its auto reader cant read on old documents or something, so typing ****** might actually show up in the new text form of old documents. Not sure how credible this is, and you know, my memory kind of sucks

well you're partially right.

Google uses the same captcha for users on three different websites to solve. And before the word actually goes into the document, all of the words between these sites (3/3) have to match

Basically, of only 1 out of 3 answers to captcha is "******", ****** will not get into the textbook. Only if 3 out of 3 answers are "******", the ****** goes in.

Don't do that though, since google uses it to translate old books. By intentionally typing the clearer word wrongly you're just doing damage

Google aren't the one putting the captachs there, the website chooses to. By doing that you're just gonna hurt google who isn't reponsible for the website's choice to put capcha.

Also, is typing two words so ******* hard?

Hmm, fair enough I won't be a prick and put in incorrect words but I still hate captchas and while it is not difficult to type two words it is annoying. Especially when those words are illegible. I think captchas need to be changed to some other form of test or make it easier to actually read. Dyslexic people have great difficulty with them also and the audio captchas aren't any easier.
tl;dr Captchas are **** and need to be changed
