Pissing on the sun like that would make it shine brighter not darken it.

Could you explain how (in detail, not saying that it's just nuclear fission instead of a ball of fire)

Sorry, I always get that wrong. I can never remember which one is the decomposition of uranium 235 by radioactive decay, and which one is the creation of hydrogen and helium atoms in a star (and heavier atoms in a supernova)

Actually fusion can create elements as heavy as iron, not just helium and hydrogen and fission can happen with any unstable element heavier than iron. During a supernova elements heavier than iron can be created.

My point is that you don't need a supernova for anything below Iron since those elements generate energy during fusion. A supernova happens when a star runs out of usable fuel and everything has pretty much been turned to iron, after which the blast is powerful enough to turn the remaining matter into heavier elements.

Can you then explain how adding urine would increase the brightness of the sun then?
User avatar #16 to #14 - charlesanthony

sun uses hydrogen as fuel to perform nuclear fusion. which turns it into helium and releases a bit of energy. Since urine contains water, and thus hydrogen, you would ad more fuel to the sun and thus the reaction would be bigger and more energy released.

That's wrong. The urine would never reach a layer in the sun that fusion was occurring at (it possibly could in some stars that are fully convective, but the sun is not). It would add mass to the layers above the sun which would increase the pressure at the core of the sun, which would increase the rate of fusion.

hhmmm, i suppose that makes more sense. Well, it all boils down to the fact that the sun would become more massive, and heavier stars produce more energy.

don't forget that space doesn't have any atmospheric pressure, so water would boil and evaporate regardless of the Sun being there or not. However, as has already been pointed out, things that evaporate still exist. The evaporated piss reaches the Sun and makes it burn ever so slightly faster and stronger.

You dont get it man. Even if it turns to steam, it's still water, and it still headed for the sun. It does not matter what state the matter of the water is in, it's still the same atoms. Wheter you think it brightens the sun or not has no impact on the fact that adding hydrogen to the sun will make it brighter.

That is food for thought actually, though the sun's radius is huge it's mass is astronomical - I wonder if, due to gravity, the gas is pressurized enough to allow someone to stand on it. Theoretically its possible.
