A man who lived his life giving, and helping others, but couldn't help himself. His story is a sad one

Logging out so this can't be traced back to me, but it's creeping me out so much I can relate to this man. I always take care of my friends' bussiness before my own, to make sure they're happy. What they don't know though is that every ******* day I think about bying a plane ticket to New Zealand or the US to get away from this life. I have a huge birthmark on my leg which I haven't showed to anyone except my nearest family. My friends have noticed this and asks me everytime we have gym-class why they have never seen my thighs but I just make a quick joke and ignore it. It's driving me nuts, and I can't focus on anything at the moment. My family doesn't even know I have this problem, they think I just live with it..

Whomever you are, where ever you are. You aren't alone. I've always felt an insane urge to protect people. Especially my loved ones. I was always jokingly called a knight because of it. And I guess it kind of went to my head. But what I've come to realize recently is that not everybody needs a knight. Not everyone needs protection, or help. Not every situation or conflict requires one to jump in and give 110%. And there's nothing wrong with that. It's not a reflection on you at all. And that's what kept me from abandoning that mindset, I was afraid it would be seen as me running away. But it's not. It's completely okay to pick your battles friend. You'll come to find that if you make yourself happy, happiness will follow suit.

dunno if this will reach you anon. but heres my past dealing with depression issues.

Hey we are all going to die, eventually. I will, my family will, my children and friends. everyone on this site will die in like 60-80 years.

I have battled depression when i was 13 until i was 16. I left school (outright refused to go, locked in bathroom every morning) due to severe social anxiety (and what i suspect is aspergers, never been checked though). Anyway, during my time off school, while my friendships died out and i became the loneliest person on earth I thought about suicide. Whats the point, i make no difference to anything or anyone, family ashamed of me, no education, surely id be better off just gone.

Well I could never come to do anything about it, so i just sat alone and played videogames in a pit of self pity and depression shut in from the world. Until one day, i mustve been 15 I took a look at my life, and thought to myself. I will die eventually. Everyone will die.

A common thought for the depressed I guess but it didnt make me sad. It made me realize that no matter what happens, between now and my inevitable death, nothing matters.

but thats what freed me.

It doesnt matter about your birth mark. it doesnt matter about your friends or family, it DOES NOT matter about what people think of you. All that matters is you have fun. Do what makes you happy. Its OK to drop everything to do what you want. you get this 1 life one chance.

I was 16 when i enrolled in college to study Games Development. i started way at the bottom cause i had no education whatsoever. I did what i had to do, pushed towards something i loved. By 20 i graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Games Design. I am 22 now and co-owner of an Indie Dev studio in Scotland.

**** Everyone and Everything and do what you love. Whatever, whoever, or wherever that may be. Peace

Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed. Says life seems harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain. Doctor says "Treatment is simple. Great clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. Go and see him. That should pick you up." Man bursts into tears. Says "But Doctor... I am Pagliacci."

He was also a joke thief but you don't hear anyone talking about that these days do you. Listen, he was a great guy and he didn't deserve to die. It is sad that he was not able to cope with his depression but everyone knows he is dead. Everyone is sad, and too many people are making light of it by hopping on the RIP IN PEPPERONI bandwagon and flodding FUNNYjunk with sad ****.
