i havent played ds2 since it came out i did a little pvp finished the game a couple times and got bored, i didnt play any of the expansions yet but i did a demons souls play through the other week this week im doing dark souls 1 again. I spent so much time on ds1 pvp, people still play it but it took me 30mins to get summoned a few times. My point is my favorite Ds1 weapon is great scythe but they screwed it over in ds2 i dont even have a favorite there.
Dark souls 2 pvp has been a major upgrade to ds1, alot of people are having a hard time playing ds1 now, at the start it was rocky and very unbalanced but they made it alot smoother, made it more balanced and all that, but the real tragedy here is demon souls pvp is dying, it takes a while to get summoned and in my opinion was the best of all the souls pvp, it was fun and face paced with alot of spells and items as well as amazing atmosphere, the only problem demon souls had really was duping, in my opinion it goes Demon Souls > Dark Souls 2 > Dark Souls, But maybe im just a little bias for demon souls because it was the first souls game i ever played, i got it within a month of its release and has hooked me ever since.
mine would go ds1>demons>ds2 ds2 is a fine game but it wasnt even made by the same team who made ds1 and demon souls it just feels off to me, i havent tried playing the expansions or even read up on any new items or weapons so maybe id find something later on. Ds3 will be made by the original team though so hopefully it will be everything i could want but i have no idea on the timeline for it, probably 3-4 years from now. Them making dex weapons so much weaker didnt sit well with me i dislike strength weapons and large heavy weapons same for heavy armors. It seemed Ds2 focused around str builds. feel free to correct me though im not a ds2 expert
I agree with you to an extent, things are still out of balance a bit right now, like i use a great club with 71 str in heavy armor but i still do less damage to a lightly armored target while their katana or spear or whatever does a gigantic chunk of my hp, they also kinda ****** up with soul memory, im a 256 sl and im being paired with people who are near max (around 800ish) and its really ****** up but it just makes it more challenging, if theres a meta you can be assured that every time you invade theres a coin flip chance someone is using it, and when somethings meta in dark souls 2 its a monster. and as for demon souls its always been my favorite, i loved the atmosphere on it, it was dark and gloomy like how it should be with nice audio on it to really hear the depression and despair in places like the tower of latria, some of the bosses were a bit gimicky like the adjudicator or the dragon god but in total mad for some fun experiences, the pvp was really fast paced which i enjoyed and i liked alot of the design on the weapons and spells, for me itll be hard to to top demon souls when it comes to a fun playthrough
yeah my original demon soupls play through was after i played dark souls a bunch back in 2012ish close to 2013 so it was already dying down/dead i didnt get to pvp much but i got to play around with falcons. During my the other week replay i turned the brightness down on the game to the recommended level of 3 and the whole game felt different. It felt new and exciting im still on a break from it but i plan to 100% all 3 games. I messed up getting the friends and foes rings it will probably take 2 or 3 more play throughs to get my char tendency back to where it needs to be. But ds1 just seems like the perfect game to me, it isnt as large as the other two games but it feels complete with the exception of pvp lag tweeks i wouldnt change a thing in it. (maybe 4 rings instead of 2 i did like that part)
Dark souls was definatley an awesome game but it just didnt have that gloomy feel of demon souls, and the audio wasnt as satisfying, like when you slash a dregling and then you can hear that blade make the chnk sound and see the blood, and the animations felt more fluent too, i just loved how it really felt like you were traversing a land of madness where you have to fight through to keep going. Dark Souls was great, as was Dark Souls 2 but Demon Souls is still my favorite just due to how fluent it was, how the audio fit well and was so satisfying and when you did talk to the characters you could see how alot of them had just lost their will.
That movie tho... I'll tell you one thing, that wasn't a train, that was a ******* roller-coaster; the movie seemed like my cup of tea at first and since I read it is more of an art movie then an action movie I thought I could digest the plot.
Oh, Boy, I was wrong. The **** in that movie hits hard, made me sick and made me sad, made me angry, made me want to scream... Still don't know whether do I like the movie or not.
Me too. It seemed to be going somewhere and took a turn at the end and still made a point.
In movies like these I try to make something out of it, a message or anything. I had a really hard time doing that, and that was frustrating. In fact, in the end, when the train crashed, it just then started to make sense.
During the whole movie I was aware it was depicting a hierarchy in a society (although a bit exaggerated - we ain't really eating each other to survive) but some scenes were really hard to "read".
It is sort of an eye-opening movie, not the one that is supposed to make sense to an average movie enthusiast, but the one that is just there as a message, not as a movie to keep you entertained.
The train is a system led by a few people. There are others on the train, but they are mostly used as fuel (kept alive to breed, cuz we saw Wilford needed kids to replace active parts of the train) or as tools to control the 99% (the enforcers). Once Curtis saw that they are at the same time keeping the train alive and being treated as **** , he decides ' **** it, this is a **** system running at the cost of many. Better no system than this **** .'
