I found one crawling on the wall last night, stared at it for 10 minutes, it fell and ran in the kitchen. It's still there, I just don't know where.
I also have arachnophobia.

I had a very long and painful process of trying to get it to go away. I ended up getting a yardstick to poke it with (fully extended of course), but then it went UNDER my bed. After a good 15 minutes of mustering up courage I kneeled down and slapped it with the stick. Then I went and got a dumbbell and dropped it on the ****** . Good riddance.

Lucky you found yours. I was using a fishing rod incase it came near me, then lost it!
