I feel like there's a chance this article is very one sided and is leaving out key elements that might support the other side.
So without knowing in detail why the judge made these decisions I find it unfair to reprimand him for it.
I'm not supporting any side. I do believe that a homosexual couple has just as much right to raise a family as a heterosexual couple.
I'm just not sure all the facts are presented here as to why these parents fell under scrutiny in the first place.

It does specifically say that the foster agency is unaware of any issues with the performance of the two foster parents. And from further research I also can't find anything. So yeah, appears to simply be because they're lesbians.

Okay, assuming everything in the article is a fact and not, in some way, twisted.

The parents got the kid in a legal way.
The parents did not mistreat the child in any way.
The judge made the decision based on one study, even though there are plenty of studies proving the opposite.

I think it's pretty clear that the judge is, in fact, a dick who has no legal base to rely on and brings his personal feelings in his work. Just because he thinks it's wrong for gays to be in charge of kids.

But there is one thing that makes me question it. How did the couple get the judges attention? I mean, how would he hear of them? Does he go around and search for those kind of couples? Are there more victims of his dickishness? Or did he know them personally?

They were applying to officially adopt the foster child. A judge probably gets involved in this sort of thing.

I'd be upset by this if one of them was the actual mother, or if they were the adoptive parents, but they're just foster parents.
Yeah, the judge is ignoring the law and forcing his personal beliefs into the case, which is wrong and something should be done about that ******** ...
But my sympathy is very muted by the fact that it's just a foster kid, you shouldn't be "shattered" cuz they're going to another foster family. It's not your kid, you haven't even known it for that long, you have no real connection to it.

I need more detail about the specific case here and not his dubious past.
sure he sound ****** up, but without any more details than his statement, i can't form a full opinion, so far the lesbian couple seem to have the rights. But i need more info.

to my knowledge all you need is a degree in law and apply for a judgeship, they interview you if they have an opening and if you're they think you're the best then they make you a judge.
