Work at Menards (big chain home improvement store in the midwest), we get pallets of bricks with only one layer of shrinkwrap fall out of the back of trucks all the time, but for some reason they never get wrapped more, no matter how much we complain
yeah its about time. the loaders have to be done by a set amount of time. So they cut corners* and they don't care what you think. and other words FU you don't right my paycheck It's just how it is.
There should be a dock light to the left of the door that indicates to the driver if they are OK to drive away or not. Can't see the light so don't know who is at fault.
ah so it seems... where I live they don't use those tho so easy mistake to make by me but I guess the driver was a dumb dumb or just didn't pay any attention and in any case they shoulda used (again I don't know their english name for them) the pole and/or the rope thingys
Yeah but you can move forward 5ft without them falling out... they fell out because he just drove off, would have been fine if he just budged forward and closed the door
the truck in this gif has double doors if you'd look instead of thinking "hey this one truck has a sliding door so they all do". you can clearly see the hinges as he starts to drive off and he doesnt stop because he noticed the carts he stopped because he drove just far enough to shut the doors. the morons standing in the loading bay should have used a load bar to prevent that from happening because if you load anything that rolls you're supposed to have some sort of break.
While moving a few of them isn't that much of a problem, moving the whole truck load can be a pain. I fetched buggies for years and they can be dangerous in large numbers. Not to mention you have to load them very tight against the sides or else they will grill your balls about improper loading.
I already get paid to do a job which is 50% made up of lifting good weighing up to 35 kilos, so if somebody's **** up gives me an "opportunity to build arm strength", they'll be getting told that I'll go have a wank to build arm strength while they fix their **** .
Then again, this attitude's coming from the past 2 weeks being even more intensive than normal, and I've got this pain in my arm that just will not go away.
Well, if they have a ramp at their disposal (which they most likely would; many trucks even have pull-out ramps built in) they could be loaded back in with ease.
you cannot close the doors while it is in the loading dock. They are on hinges on both sides and open up and lay against the sides of the truck while open. In order to close the doors the driver has to exit the dock to make room for the doors. The problem being was the idiots loading the truck were so hunky dory at how neat of a job they did that they didnt realize that wheels enable things to roll. Hence no rubber chucks under any of the wheels or a strap or load bar.
We don't know is the driver was cleared to pull forward yet or not. Maybe they didn't finish the loading, the guy was holding something, could have been a retaining wall.
