At this point I can't even tell if people are just making fun on John Oliver, or if they sincerely think this all he says about any issue. Hell, I've watched quite a bit of his show, and I've only heard it in two or three segments.

I really liked his shows, but then I heard his comment about Slovakia and he was way off, like he pretty much misinterpreted the situation for the sake of making a joke. That and the stupid "It's 2015!" pseudo-argument have made me lose some respect for him. I still think he's funny and a lot of the stuff he says is spot on, but now I'm thinking "if he would misinterpret something for the sake of making a joke, could he be doing it with other issues he presents as well?". So I made this as a bit of a mockery, but I still kinda like him (with some reservations) at the same time.

I don't agree with everything he says, but I mainly watch him for entertainment value, and if he says something that peaks my interest, I'll research it further. I'm not familiar with the Slovakia thing, though. Do you have a link?

youtu.be/umqvYhb3wf4?t=9m33s and there is some more stuff about quotas elsewhere I believe.

The issue here is that there are many more reasons why people didn't want to take in refugees and I've never heard a person in a normal conversation mention mosques as the reason, ever. The reason is, that aside from our larger towns/cities, most people make like 600€ and less/month (net, while a cheap 3 room flat in a small town costs 400€/month). Our politicians are telling us every year how businesses have to pay higher taxes and insurance, our pensioners are getting like 300€/month and we have not been able to integrate gypsies, which is quite a big problem in some parts of Slovakia. So now, we weren't able to integrate our problematic minority, we make way less then the west (stuff actually costs frequently more here then say in Germany) and we are told how we still need to pay more taxes and now we're supposed to take in another minority, who will get twice the money of the pension of some pensioners and do it against our will??? That's just ******* ridiculous! We have yet to take care of our issues (Slovakia has been a country for 22 years), please, let us grow as a nation and let us do it our way, don't force us to pay refugees if we don't have money for our pensioners and businesses. The way John interprets it is incredibly stupid and shows that he has actually no idea what the hell he's talking about. Instead, he made it look as if we were some looneys. Also, to be fair, Slovakia is pretty conservative. But thinking that by forcing us to accept another minority this is going to change is quite stupid. The only thing this proves to the average, conservative Slovak is that the EU really are assholes, because if we say we can't do this now, they'll just force us. Bravo, that's really the way to make things better.
